The Registered Nurse A is responsible for maintaining a high standard of patient care in accordance with the vision, mission and philosophy of the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region. As a member of The Nursing Department, The Registered Nurse A has the responsibility for the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of comprehensive client centered care. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience 3 years acute care nursing including 1 year recent Emergency nursing required Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Current registration with CRNS and current BCLS certification. Other Education and Training Required to be SANE certified and maintain that certification Required to complete an Adult Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) or other trauma assessment course desired Competencies Sound clinical judgment skills Ability to work in a team environment Capability to lead self: Demonstrates character Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Knowledge and Abilities Ability to perform technical emergency nursing duties with skill and competence Participates in continuous quality improvement activities Ability to operate related equipment & carry out the duties of the position Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement Ability to use compassionate sensitive approach relating to victims & families Ability to deal tactfully, non-judgmentally and effectively with people ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, families.
