Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment in good repair.  Minor electrical work, mechanical repairs, and other duties relating to maintenance. Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values.  </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><em>Education:</em></p>\n<p>·       GED or High school diploma required. 10+ years of maintenance/mechanical experience considered in Lieu of education.</p>\n<p>·       Training in boiler room operating techniques and related activities preferred.</p>\n<p><em>Licensure/Certification/Registry:</em></p>\n<p>·       In this position, one will be required to be an OSHA certified forklift operator.  On site and hands on training will be provided by department leader to meet this requirement.  </p>\n<p><em>Experience:</em></p>\n<p>·       Two years of experience in the facilities maintenance field preferred.</p>\n<p><em>Other Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:</em></p>\n<p>·       Must have working knowledge of steam and steam systems.</p>\n<p>·       Operates and maintains steam generators.</p>\n<p>·       Observes various meters and gauges and takes appropriate action for safe operation. </p>\n<p>·       Performs preventive maintenance on equipment and systems as required. </p>\n<p>·       Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of steam, electrical, mechanical and plumbing system as required.   </p>\n<p>·       Ability to read and interpret documents.  </p>\n<p>·       Ability to apply, understand and carry out instruction furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  </p>\n<p>·       Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Performs urgent corrective, routine and requisitioned repairs of electrical, mechanical and plumbing system as required.</li>\n<li>Performed preventive maintenance on equipment and systems as required.</li>\n<li>Assists in maintaining electrical wiring and emergency generator systems.</li>\n<li>Inspects and tests equipment/systems.</li>\n<li>Embodies the Memorial Health System Performance Excellence Standards of Safety, Courtesy, Quality, and Efficiency that support our mission, vision and values:</li>\n<ul>\n <li><u>SAFETY:</u> <em>Prevent Harm</em> - I put safety first in everything I do. I prevent defects and delays.</li>\n</ul>\n<li>Assists in replacing, installing, repairing and testing electrical circuits, equipment, appliances and lighting systems as required.</li>\n<li>Maintains routine records of all inspections, preventive maintenance and repairs performed on any equipment or system.</li>\n<li>Performs manual duties as requested (i.e. moving supplies or furniture, replacing light bulbs, removing trash or scrap material). </li>\n<li>Operates and maintains Steam Generators.</li>\n<li>Observes various meters and gauges and takes appropriate action for safe operation.</li>\n<li>Start, stop, and switch lead/lag Steam Generators as appropriate.</li>\n<li>Clean boiler room as needed.</li>\n<li>Keep logs on each Steam Generator.</li>\n<li>Performs periodic inspection of mechanical rooms throughout the facility to insure proper operation of heat, air conditioning and ventilation, and medical support equipment.</li>\n<li>A working knowledge of fire alarm and signal systems.</li>\n<li>Maintain established Hospital and Departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control, and comply with codes and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies.</li>\n<li>Performs other related work as required or requested.</li>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em> </em></p>\n<p><em>The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job.
