Consider joining the team to leave a lasting impact in your local community as our Medical Assistants can look forward to rewarding benefits and work environment. \n<p><strong>Experienced Medical Assistants and/or new Medical Assistant graduates are welcomed!</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> UHC Comprehensive Perinatal Health Worker (CPHW) shows genuine warmth with patients and has the ability to make them feel comfortable in the health center while providing effective and technically competent nursing assistance to both patients and UHC providers. The CPHW provides prenatal health education to referred patients. This includes assessment of patient's personal situations and development of individual care plan.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>Works closely with the Nursing Supervisor and other members of the clinic management team to:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Provides prompt medical support; promotes a smooth patient flow; collects and records data accurately.</li>\n <li>Provides prenatal education and information to patients, making sure patients' questions are answered and anxieties alleviated and interfaces with community-oriented activities and staff.</li>\n <li>Achieves the organizational mission to provide health care access for all the members of the community. Helps make sure patients and get the care they need when they need it.</li>\n <li>Consistently and openly communicates with supervisor and all staff.</li>\n <li>Works flexible or extended hours where necessary.</li>\n <li>Participates in health center in-services and meeting, listening and respecting others' ideas.</li>\n <li>Abides by Rules of Confidentiality.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>EDUCATION:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School graduate or GED.</li>\n <li>Completed training program in Medical Assisting from Accredited College preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Possess a valid CPR certificate</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PRIOR EXPERIENCE:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>1 (one) year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a OB/GYN or Woman's Health setting, preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>SKILLS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.</li>\n <li>Knowledge of Medical Terminology needed</li>\n <li>Able to quickly build and maintain rapport with patients and providers of differing backgrounds; team player</li>\n <li>Customer-service oriented</li>\n <li>Familiar with adult learning and general training techniques</li>\n <li>Positive professional insight</li>\n <li>Flexibility and dependability</li>\n <li>Modern office practices and procedures including email</li>\n <li>Intermediate computer skills</li>\n <li>Attention to detail and excellent follow-through on work tasks</li>\n <li>Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The hourly wage range that UHC reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire starts at $23.10 an hour.
