delivery, and advancement of the Goizueta Business School’s research technology and data infrastructure.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This role partners closely with faculty, doctoral students, research centers, and administrative leadership to enable high-impact, data-intensive, and computationally advanced research.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Manager leads the development of secure, scalable, and innovative computing environments that support analytics, AI/ML, econometrics, behavioral research, and interdisciplinary scholarship while ensuring compliance with institutional, legal, and funding agency requirements.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manages and supervises staff and operations in an Information Technology (IT) area.</li>\n <li>Advises management on issues within a specific IT area to ensure compliance and uniform systems across the division and enterprise.</li>\n <li>Works closely with other area managers and directors to ensure smooth and transparent processes and systems.</li>\n <li>Designs information systems and procedures to support division operations.</li>\n <li>Hires, trains and supervises staff.</li>\n <li>Performs related responsibilities as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strategic Leadership & Research Enablement\n  <ul>\n   <li>Develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for research infrastructure supporting advanced analytics, AI/ML, simulation, and high-performance computing.</li>\n   <li>Align research computing services with faculty priorities, accreditation expectations, and the school’s strategic research goals.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Faculty & Researcher Partnership\n  <ul>\n   <li>Consult with faculty and doctoral students to assess computational, data, and software needs across disciplines (finance, marketing, strategy, operations, accounting, and behavioral sciences).</li>\n   <li>Provide hands-on and advisory support for grant-funded research projects, including data management plans, compliance documentation, and technical architecture.</li>\n   <li>Build partnerships with university IT, libraries, compliance offices, and external research consortia.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Technology & Infrastructure Oversight\n  <ul>\n   <li>Lead the design and management of secure research environments, including cloud platforms, on-premise systems, and hybrid architectures.</li>\n   <li>Oversee access to licensed data sources, proprietary datasets, and secure enclaves for sensitive or restricted research data.</li>\n   <li>Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of research systems supporting large-scale data analysis and computational modeling.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Data Governance, Security & Compliance\n  <ul>\n   <li>Establish policies and best practices for data governance, privacy, and research data lifecycle management.</li>\n   <li>Ensure compliance with IRB, FERPA, HIPAA (where applicable), GDPR, and funding agency requirements.</li>\n   <li>Lead risk management for sensitive, proprietary, and regulated data environments.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Operational & Financial Management\n  <ul>\n   <li>Develop and manage the research computing budget, including forecasting, vendor management, and cost-recovery models.</li>\n   <li>Evaluate and negotiate contracts for data providers, cloud services, and research software platforms.</li>\n   <li>Define service models, SLAs, and performance metrics to ensure high-quality support.</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Team Leadership & Development\n  <ul>\n   <li>Foster a service-oriented culture focused on innovation, responsiveness, and academic partnership.</li>\n   <li>Create training programs and workshops to improve research computing QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>A bachelor's degree and five years of related IT experience including project management and lead or supervisory experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Master's degree in a related field.</li>\n <li>Experience in a top-tier research university or business school environment.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with IRB processes, sponsored research compliance, and federal funding requirements.</li>\n <li>Background in AI/ML platforms, high-performance computing, or large-scale data environments.</li>\n <li>Demonstrated experience supporting faculty research and grant-funded projects.</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of cloud computing platforms, data governance, and research data security.</li>\n <li>Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion.
