We have been serving residents of Edgar County since 1968 though community education, emergency services, and outpatient care. As we continue to expand our services &amp; locations, our community has grown far beyond Paris. Our rich history and strong community support pave the way for the future of healthcare as we serve you&mdash;our family, friends, and neighbors.</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Position Summary: &nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the nursing care of the patients assigned to him/her during a given period of time. &nbsp;The RN functions under minimal supervision and according to established policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards. &nbsp;The RN performs other assignments as required.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Functions (Responsibilities/Accountabilities):</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Correctly triages, assigns triage category, and recognizes life threatening situations immediately.&nbsp;</li><li>Prioritizes patient care according to severity of presenting compliant.</li><li>Identifies and communicates unusual or abnormal assessments of patient care problems to the Coordinator/Manager.</li><li>Safely and accurately administers all medications within the acceptable limits of professional judgment according to policy. &nbsp;(Consider the severity of any medication administration incident reports.)</li><li>Demonstrates appropriate skills for patients requiring resuscitation for cardiac and/or respiratory arrest.&nbsp;</li><li>Quickly and efficiently sets up for monitoring, pacing and defibrillation, when appropriate.</li><li>Demonstrates appropriate medication management skills to care for patients requiring cardiac pacing, cardioversion, or artificial ventilatory assistance.</li><li>Properly and accurately sets up for emergency procedures such as lumbar puncture, chest tubes and arterial lines. &nbsp;</li><li>Properly and accurately sets up ventilatory assistive devices, BIPAP/CPAP and Ventilator.</li><li>Monitor and correctly interpret rhythm strips. &nbsp;Recognize changes in rhythm and wave forms and reports to physician as appropriate.</li><li>Function as Team Leader in a Code Blue situation.</li><li>Maintains proficiency in use of the Electronic Health Record.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><em>The responsibilities listed above are not all-inclusive; other activities may be required in support of the hospital&rsquo;s goals and objectives.</em></p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Position Requirements:</strong> &nbsp;</p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Graduate from an associate degree, baccalaureate degree, or diploma school of nursing.</li><li>Current RN licensure in the state of Illinois.</li><li>Have and maintain certification in BLS, ACLS and PALS.</li><li>Will obtain and maintain ITLS/TNCC/TNS within 6 months of hire&nbsp;</li><li>Minimum of three years&rsquo; experience preferred</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Pay Range:</strong></p><p>Pay ranges from $27.473/hour to $43.997/hour (rate of pay is based on applicable years of experience)</p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Horizon Health</strong> is committed to caring not only for our patients, but for our staff as well.
