We are competent, capable and we invest in our people and in our processes to ensure we continue to grow and do our best work every day.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Role Overview</span></p>\n<p>We currently have an opportunity for the role of <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Facilities Lead</span> at Mergon.<br>This role requires an experienced and capable individual with a strong practical foundation in facilities management or a related discipline within an industrial or manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible leading a small team to maintain and improve buildings, grounds, services and facilities at the company’s site in Castlepollard.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Facilities Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take full ownership of the site facilities, including buildings, grounds, utilities, and infrastructure</li>\n<li>Manage a planned preventive maintenance (PPM) schedule for all facilities-related assets</li>\n<li>Oversee and coordinate all facility repairs, upgrades, and improvement projects</li>\n<li>Manage relationships with various stakeholders to include contract negotiations with external contractors, service providers, and vendors, ensuring quality of work and value for money</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate records of all facilities assets, maintenance activities, and associated costs</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Team Leadership</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead, develop, and motivate a small facilities/maintenance/cleaning support team</li>\n<li>Assign and prioritise daily tasks and workload for the facilities team</li>\n<li>Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement within the team</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Health, Safety &amp; Compliance</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensure all facilities are fully compliant with relevant health &amp; safety legislation, building regulations, and environmental standards</li>\n<li>Conduct regular facility inspections and risk assessments, addressing any issues promptly</li>\n<li>Support fire safety management, including maintenance of fire detection/suppression systems and emergency exits</li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with insurance requirements and coordinate facility-related audits</li>\n<li>Manage waste disposal, recycling, and environmental sustainability initiatives on-site</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Utilities &amp; Energy Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Monitor and manage site utilities including electricity, water, compressed air, and HVAC systems</li>\n<li>Identify and implement energy efficiency improvements to reduce costs and support sustainability goals</li>\n<li>Track utility consumption, analyse trends, and report on key metrics</li>\n<li>Liaise with utility providers and manage service agreements</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Project Management</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead facilities-related capital expenditure (CapEx) projects from planning through to completion</li>\n<li>Manage site layout changes, office refurbishments, and infrastructure upgrades</li>\n<li>Prepare project proposals, budgets, timelines, and progress reports</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Sustainability Initiatives:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Identify and implement energy-saving and waste-reduction initiatives to support the company’s sustainability goals.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Experience and Qualifications required:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>A recognised qualification or demonstrable track record in Facilities Management, Engineering, Energy Management, or a related discipline.</li>\n<li>Alternatively a relevant SOLAS accredited Trade certification and 5 years hands on experience would be an advantage.</li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of health &amp; safety legislation, building regulations, and environmental compliance`</li>\n<li>Excellent organisational skills with proven experience in people management.</li>\n<li>Excellent communication skills</li>\n<li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benefits:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>26 days holidays</li>\n<li>Career Growth and Development Opportunities· Wellness Programme</li>\n<li>Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)</li>\n<li>Company Gym</li>\n<li>Health Insurance for you and your family</li>\n<li>Defined contribution pension scheme</li>\n<li>Competitive Salary</li>\n</ul>\n<p>                                                                                                                                       </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">The closing date for receipt of CVs is Friday 17th April, 2026.</span></p>",
