The operator/mechanic may be called upon to work extensive overtime as weather and business conditions warrant.  Familiarity and strict adherence to all company policies that impact job, including but not limited to lockout/tagout, confined space, and hazard communications. This position reports to the Operations Manager.  <br></p>\n<p><span> </span><br><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Typical Duties &amp; Responsibilities:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>The production of quality ready mix concrete in accordance with required mix design specifications.</li>\n<li>Managing the day-to-day functions of the plant yard.</li>\n<li>Perform opening, startup, and shutdown of batch plant.</li>\n<li>The batch man/maintenance personnel may be called upon to work extensive overtime as weather and business conditions warrant.</li>\n<li>Interacting regularly with dispatchers, haulers, drivers, customers, operations, production, and quality control personnel.</li>\n<li>Daily inspection of entire plant facility.</li>\n<li>Performing routine, preventative, diagnostic, and repair maintenance on all plant equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner.</li>\n<li>May require travel to potentially any of our plant locations based on need.</li>\n<li>Will perform other duties as assigned by management personnel.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Accurately report daily material delivery and usage in a timely manner and ordering material according to production plans.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Required Qualifications</span><span>:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Must be at least 18 years of age. </li>\n<li>High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.</li>\n<li>Must be able to read, write and interpret directions.</li>\n<li>Must be able to work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following Company safety guidelines and following company policies.</li>\n<li>Must be able to work flexible hours.  Hours vary by week.</li>\n<li>Must be able to do moderately strenuous work, ability to lift over 50 pounds, and endure long periods of standing/walking/sitting as well as continuous strenuous activities such as frequent reaching, bending, or lifting.</li>\n<li>This position is an indoor and outdoor position exposed to all weather conditions.</li>\n<li>Must have transportation to get to work on time.</li>\n<li>Must be familiar with computerized batch panel and how a plant operates.</li>\n<li>Must be able to pass a company drug screen and physical.</li>\n<li>Must have computer skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Experience:</span><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Have at least two years of experience around concrete manufacturing operations.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-size: 12pt\">Thank you for your interest in applying with one of the Bettis Companies.
