Description of Job Duty: Assists the head women's basketball coach with all aspects of the women's basketball program including recruiting, practices and conditioning, player development, public relations, and supporting the academic development and graduation of student-athletes. Performs other duties, as assigned.

Essential Functions: Coaching: Includes knowledge and technical expertise, ability to develop skills in players, teaching ability and methodology, game management, and effective program discipline and motivational techniques. Student-Athlete Welfare: Includes commitment to the welfare and safety of student-athletes, efforts to facilitate academic success, cooperation with academic units and counselors, and commitment to the social development of students. Recruiting: Includes effective recruiting, professional relationships with coaches in the recruiting base, and success of previous recruits. Compliance: Includes knowledge of and adherence to NCAA, conference and TTU rules, regulations and policies. Performance: Includes level performance of team and positions coached, ability to attract support for the program, commitment to the University, and professional relationships with departmental and campus staff and community members. Physical Demands: Those typical with the duties listed.
Special Instructions: Applicants will be required to electronically upload a cover letter, resume, copy of transcripts (official transcripts required upon hire) and contact information for three references. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Proven record of successful basketball coaching experience at the high school or college level, which could include graduate assistant coaching experience, OR at least two years of basketball playing experience at the collegiate or professional level. Education and experience necessary to perform all the functions of a Division I Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. Commitment to adhere to NCAA and conference rules and regulations as well as University policies and procedures.
Beyond meeting minimum requirements, candidates will be evaluated in terms of how their experience and education have prepared them for Division I assistant coaching including recruiting, assisting with practice and conditioning, player and public relations, and supporting the academic development and graduation of student-athletes. Coaching philosophy must complement the philosophy of the head coach.
