Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) Learning & Performance Center Junior Associate Consultant (JAC) Overview and Responsibilities The primary goal of this internship is to assist in functioning the DFW Learning & Performance Center Welding Certification program by relieving the Welding Instructor who is a Certified Welding Inspector of some of more repetitive tasks and free him up for more one-on-one training with Mercedes-Benz Certified Structural Aluminum Welders. As a focus of the internship, the incumbent will be responsible for 3 major activities. Activity 1: Under the supervision of the Certified Welding Inspector (Welding Instructor), learn to conduct destructive weld testing using approved testing equipment and document results. Activity 2: Develop, document processes, and implement setup and conducting of Structural and Thin Panel Welding Work Trials including but not limited to periodic maintenance of 18 Fronius welders, monitoring and documenting key inventory levels, and communicating critical information to teammates. Activity 3: Assist with the proctoring of Work Trials and Thin Panel certification examinations. With the assistance of this intern, the Academy will be able to maintain the highest standard of structural and thin panel welder certification in the most cost effective way possible. Responsibilities Responsible for supporting all aspects of the Mercedes-Benz Welding and Testing lab. Help develop tooling management / organization of welding tooling Organization and execution of products and weld tests prior to and during Structural Welding Work Trials. Conduct destructive weld tests for Structural Welding Work Trial participants and document the results on the Mercedes-Benz Intranet. Programming, troubleshooting and testing of welding systems.
