The Peer Support Specialist develops meaningful and trusting relationships with clients, acts as a mentor, and gives consumers the support they need to better advocate for themselves, based on their personal experiences. Provides clients an example of what they can strive for in their recovery.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Supports client engagement and continued connection throughout treatment, including outreach and re-engagement with individuals who have disengaged from services.</li><li>Develops strong therapeutic relationships with clients and their families, working collaboratively with HOPE/FEP team members to support recovery goals.</li><li>Participates in meetings with new referrals to help explain program structure, expectations, and the role of peer support.</li><li>Provides community- and home-based support, including accompaniment to school, employment, and wellness-related activities as part of shared decision-making and recovery planning.</li><li>Co-facilitates peer-led and recovery-focused groups and activities (e.g., IPS, SRAP, WHAM, among others) that promote connection, resiliency, and wellness.</li><li>Shares lived experience appropriately to model recovery, promote hope, and support coping with symptoms.</li><li>Connects clients with natural supports, recovery communities, and peer-run services to strengthen long-term support systems.</li><li>Assists with community outreach initiatives to promote awareness of First Episode Psychosis services and support referral generation.</li><li>Maintains required documentation in a complete and timely manner, ensuring compliance with all HIPAA and agency standards.</li><li>Participates in ongoing training and supervision aligned with NAVIGATE/OnTrackNY peer guidelines.</li><li>Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.</li></ul>",
