Description

Greater Nashua Mental Health is looking for a full-time Peer Support Specialist to join our FEP (First Episode Psychosis) team! The Peer Support Specialist develops meaningful and trusting relationships with clients, acts as a mentor, and gives consumers the support they need to better advocate for themselves, based on their personal experiences. Provides clients an example of what they can strive for in their recovery. Duties & Responsibilities: Supports client engagement and continued connection throughout treatment, including outreach and re-engagement with individuals who have disengaged from services. Develops strong therapeutic relationships with clients and their families, working collaboratively with HOPE/FEP team members to support recovery goals. Participates in meetings with new referrals to help explain program structure, expectations, and the role of peer support. Provides community- and home-based support, including accompaniment to school, employment, and wellness-related activities as part of shared decision-making and recovery planning. Co-facilitates peer-led and recovery-focused groups and activities (e.g., IPS, SRAP, WHAM, among others) that promote connection, resiliency, and wellness. Shares lived experience appropriately to model recovery, promote hope, and support coping with symptoms. Connects clients with natural supports, recovery communities, and peer-run services to strengthen long-term support systems. Assists with community outreach initiatives to promote awareness of First Episode Psychosis services and support referral generation. Maintains required documentation in a complete and timely manner, ensuring compliance with all HIPAA and agency standards. Participates in ongoing training and supervision aligned with NAVIGATE/OnTrackNY peer guidelines. Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.
