We welcome candidates who can contribute to the excellence of our academic community.</p>\n<h2>Description</h2>\n<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Works as a positive team member of a project that may consist of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Information Architects, Data Analysts, and/or Database Administrators to deliver quality applications and components within scope, on time, and within budget. </li>\n <li>Participates in the evaluation of emerging technologies, developing proof-of-concepts, and promoting the usage of these emerging technologies. </li>\n <li>Meets with clients/stakeholders, and participates in design meetings with the client. </li>\n <li>Works directly with researchers to document, analyze, and translate their needs into technical designs and informatics solutions. </li>\n <li>Gathers user requirements and creates technical documentation. </li>\n <li>Applies biomedical informatics technical standards, methodologies, and principles to research-specific program needs, objectives, and outcomes. </li>\n <li>Assists in the development of business requirements for additional subject areas. </li>\n <li>Follows standard operational procedures and HIPAA regulations. </li>\n <li>Develops strategies for managing complex data sets through maintaining data standards and metadata. </li>\n <li>Develops complex reports from disparate systems and ensures their accuracy. </li>\n <li>Leads efforts to ensure that informatics systems support and advance the research objectives and mission of Emory University.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: </p>\n<ul>\n <li>A bachelor's degree and three years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. </li>\n <li>Experience working with RDBMS like Oracle, Microsoft SQL server or MySQL database, and understanding of SQL in a major RDBMS. </li>\n <li>IT experience in a healthcare or university setting if preferred. </li>\n <li>Technical certification is preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>NOTE: Tasks related to this position can be performed remotely with only occasional visits to an Emory University location.  Eastern (EST) time zone business hours may apply.  Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
