What’s in it for you: Woodard & Curran is seeking a dynamic, detail‑oriented, and client‑focused Professional Engineer to join our Water Team as a Technical Manager. In this role, you will partner with municipal clients to plan, design, and deliver a range of wastewater projects to support our Rye Brook office. Our Mid-Atlantic team comprises a dynamic group of engineers, scientists, and design professionals who emulate Woodard & Curran’s values. Woodard & Curran creates a safe and fun environment for employees to thrive and collaborate with teams locally and nationwide to deliver clean water solutions to our clients. Who are we looking for: The ideal candidate brings strong technical depth in wastewater collection systems, a proven ability to deliver complex infrastructure programs, and experience in the evaluation, planning, design, and rehabilitation of collection systems. Familiarity with a broad range of issues related to master planning, collection systems, municipal wastewater treatment, and biosolids is preferred. In collaboration with the Client Manager and Project Manager, you will help lead the delivery of multiple projects, work directly with clients and internal teams, and support marketing and proposal efforts. Location: Rye Brook, NY Offering Flexible Remote/Hybrid Work Schedule: Expectation is 2 to 3 days in the office or onsite with clients. Travel up to 20%: Clients within the Mid-Atlantic Region, generally within a two-hour radius of Westchester County To name a few, projects may include: Collection system assessments, planning, design, and rehabilitation Pumping station designs and rehabilitation Municipal wastewater systems, including collection system infrastructure, pumping system hydraulics, and wastewater treatment processes Biosolids management and renewable energy development Mutual Dispute Resolution (MDR) As part of our commitment to a fair and respectful workplace, Woodard & Curran uses a Mutual Dispute Resolution (MDR) to help resolve most employment-related concerns efficiently and consistently. Interfacing with state and local regulatory agencies and permitting officials Conducting and coordinating QA/QC reviews on project deliverables to ensure Woodard & Curran technical excellence standards are met. Collaborating with leadership and resource leaders on staffing projects. Providing input on the development of Woodard & Curran design guidelines and standards. Preparing and delivering presentations and training programs to internal and external clients and professional associations. Supporting business development efforts under the direction of a client manager. What You Will Need to Succeed: 10-15 years of consulting engineering experience. A B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or an M.S. Degree is preferred. Registered Professional Engineer in New York (or ability to apply for reciprocity). The successful candidate will have technical management and delivery expertise in civil and environmental engineering and an in-depth understanding of the engineering concepts associated with municipal wastewater systems. Well-versed in state and federal regulations. Knowledgeable in state bidding laws and funding programs. Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to conduct effective presentations to stakeholders is a plus. Experience with proposal writing and developing project scope, budget, and schedules.
