    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><strong>Senior Director, Corporate Counsel - Energy</strong></p><p>Location: San Francisco, CA, Dallas, TX, Austin, TX, New York, NY, Ashburn, VA, Boston, MA</p><p><strong>Your Role</strong></p><p style=\"margin-top:12.0pt;\">Digital Realty is seeking a Sr. Director, Corporate Counsel – Energy to join our global Legal, Risk, Sustainability &amp; Compliance (LRSC) team. In this leadership role, you will serve as the in-house counsel dedicated to supporting Digital Realty’s energy and sustainability leadership teams, helping to shape and execute Digital Realty’s long-term energy strategy. You will provide strategic, business-minded legal counsel on complex energy transactions, regulatory frameworks, and infrastructure development across our global data center portfolio. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in electricity transactions, renewable energy procurement, and regulatory frameworks, coupled with strong commercial judgment and the ability to work seamlessly across functions and regions.&nbsp;<br><br><span style=\"color:black;font-family:&quot;Calibri&quot;,sans-serif;\"><span style=\"font-size:13.0pt;line-height:115%;\"><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></span></span></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:24px;\"><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Advise on legal and regulatory matters related to energy procurement, renewable energy sourcing, and utility contracting across AMER, EMEA, and APAC. This includes participating in cross-functional working groups to identify, formulate and execute strategic transactions.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Draft, negotiate and close complex energy agreements, including power purchase agreements (PPAs), utility service agreements, interconnection agreements and development agreements. Experience with demand response is a plus.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Provide strategic counsel on regulatory frameworks affecting energy procurement and project development, such as FERC, ISO/RTO rules, and international energy regulations.&nbsp;</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Partner with energy operations, investments, sustainability, procurement, real estate, and finance teams to structure and execute transactions that align with business, legal, and environmental objectives.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Identify and mitigate legal and regulatory risks associated with energy sourcing.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Manage outside counsel and budgets for certain specialized energy and infrastructure matters.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Build and maintain strong working relationships with <span>internal stakeholders and external partners, serving as a collaborative, solution-oriented&nbsp;</span>business partner.</p></li></ul><p><strong>What you will need&nbsp;</strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type:disc;padding-left:24px;\"><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; admitted to practice and in good standing.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">7+ years of experience at a law firm and/or in-house legal department, with a strong focus on energy transactions, utility regulation, renewable procurement, and infrastructure development.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Proven track record negotiating and closing PPAs, utility contracts, and large-scale energy infrastructure agreements.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Strong business acumen with the ability to align legal strategy with commercial goals.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Industry experience in the technology, cloud services, or data center sectors is strongly preferred.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented, with a strong comfort level using technology.</p></li><li><p style=\"tab-stops:list .25in;\">Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and deliver high quality work with attention to detail and accuracy in all work product.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Additional Information</strong></p><p>The responsibilities described above are not exhaustive and additional assignments, duties, or responsibilities may be required of this position.&nbsp; Assignments, duties, and responsibilities may be adjusted at any time, with or without notice, by Digital Realty in its sole discretion.</p><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;\"><strong>A bit about us</strong></p><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;text-align:justify;text-justify:inter-ideograph;\">Digital Realty brings companies and data together by delivering the full spectrum of data center, colocation and interconnection solutions.
