Experience with a 374 excavator is not required but definitely a plus! The ideal candidate is energetic, motivated, experienced, and carries out work safely. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Why work for H&K Group, Inc.? </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary commensurate with experience</li>\n <li>100% Company-paid Health Benefits</li>\n <li>401(k) Savings and Investment Plan</li>\n <li>Tuition reimbursement programs available to qualifying employees for approved programs</li>\n <li>Additional training programs including on the job, online through H&K Academy, manufacturer offered training, and more</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Performs all work according to MSHA and H&K Safety policies</li>\n <li>Perform pre and post trip of equipment every day and fill out daily inspection sheets</li>\n <li>Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel/moves joysticks/levers to operate heavy equipment including excavator with hammer</li>\n <li>Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into finished product</li>\n <li>Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled and dumps material into truck or rail</li>\n <li>Provide excellent customer service to all customers on site</li>\n <li>Maintains haul roads that are smooth and safe</li>\n <li>Keep stockpiles properly bermed and maintained</li>\n <li>Ensure product is blended correctly</li>\n <li>Performs routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating and cleaning</li>\n <li>When not operating equipment, will help with labor work around the quarry</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school OR six months of related experience and/or training\n  <ul>\n   <li>Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered </li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Able to pass practical skills test for excavators and loaders</li>\n <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions</li>\n <li>Problem solving</li>\n <li>Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed</li>\n <li>Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p> <strong>Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Two years of related experience and/or training</li>\n <li>Experience and practical skills for other heavy equipment \n  <ul>\n   <li>Strong preference for experience and practical skills with a 330 excavator with hammer and loader</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries</li>\n <li>OSHA or other relevant safety certifications</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Frequently required to \n  <ul>\n   <li>Sit</li>\n   <li>Use hands to finger, handle, or feel</li>\n   <li>Reach with hands and arms</li>\n   <li>Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl</li>\n   <li>Talk or hear</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Occasionally required to \n  <ul>\n   <li>Stand, walk, climb, and balance</li>\n   <li>Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Specific vision abilities include distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Regularly exposed to \n  <ul>\n   <li>Outside weather conditions</li>\n   <li>Vibration</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles</li>\n <li>Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts</li>\n <li>Noise level is usually loud</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>H&K Group, Inc.</strong> provides complete heavy civil contracting and construction materials solutions with safety, speed, quality, efficiency, and value.
