As our Speech Therapist, you are responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and treating individuals with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Shift’s Available:</strong>  Days </p>\n<p><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Per Diem</p>\n<p><strong>Hours:</strong> 8-hour shift – 8:00am to 4:00pm </p>\n<p><strong>Location: </strong>Dallas Regional Medical Center – Mesquite, TX </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Conduct communication assessments and provide evidence-based therapy for speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in acute and medically complex settings </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide cognitive-communication therapy targeting attention, memory, executive function, and problem-solving in patients with neurological conditions </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Educate patients and caregivers on safe swallowing, communication strategies, and appropriate use of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems to support functional outcomes </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Treat patients across ICU, Inpatient Rehab, NICU, and Pediatrics, addressing feeding, swallowing, congenital, critical care and other communication needs </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Enhance quality of life and safety by supporting safe oral intake, restoring communication, and promoting cognitive-linguistic recovery </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><em><strong>Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:  </strong></em></p>\n<ul>\n <li> Graduate of an accredited college or university with a master’s degree in speech-language pathology required.</li>\n <li> Active license to practice speech language pathology in the state of anticipated employment, free of disciplinary action required.</li>\n <li>Active Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), free of disciplinary action – OR - Speech Language Pathology Clinical Fellow (SLP-CFs) to be considered on a case-by-case basis (provided proper supervision can be afforded to the CF) required.</li>\n <li>At least one year of experience in a hospital setting.</li>\n <li>Current BLS for healthcare provider’s certification upon hire and maintain current.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Employment Status</h2>Per Diem\n<h2>Shift</h2>Variable\n<h2>Equal Employment Opportunity</h2>\n<p>Company is an equal employment opportunity employer.
