Description

Job Purpose: The Safety Training and Development Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and continuously improving safety training programs in support of LGUS SHEQ standards and regulatory requirements. The role ensures safety training content, systems, and processes are effective, current, and consistently applied across locations. This position partners closely with SH&E leadership and subject matter experts to identify training needs, develop content, and support the successful deployment of safety training programs across the organization. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, implement, and maintain safety training programs across LGUS. Identify safety training needs through collaboration with SH&E leadership, operations, and subject matter experts. Develop new safety training courses and update existing content to align with SHEQ standards, regulatory requirements, and operational risks. Coordinate with subject matter experts to ensure accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness of training materials. Manage and maintain safety training courses, rosters, and records within designated training systems. Maintain SH&E training platforms, including the SH&E training site and NESO Launch Pad. Support monthly safety meetings by preparing, organizing, and communicating training materials and information. Orient new SH&E managers and specialists to safety training systems, reporting tools, and requirements. Monitor training completion, participation, and effectiveness; identify trends and recommend improvements. Address training system or data issues and partner with system owners to implement enhancements. Ensure safety training programs support internal and external audits and compliance requirements. Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders without direct authority. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning methodologies. Knowledge of safety, SH&E, or compliance training requirements. Experience managing training content and learning management systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
