We provide qualified DSPs who have a passion and drive to help these individuals, with a positive, stable, and highly compensated work opportunity. We recognize this is a special gift and we are dedicated to helping every DSP to find the client they are meant to help.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">1B0260G   </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Location</span>: Gresham, 97080   </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Schedule</span>: Evenings, weekends, and overnights. Schedule can vary and is up for discussion.</p>\n<p>We are seeking a compassionate and reliable caregiver to assist a 15-year-old nonverbal boy with activities of daily living and personal care. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with personal hygiene tasks, administering medications, and providing a safe, supportive environment. This position includes 2:1 care, so two DSPs can provide support at the same time. While not required, two applicants are welcome to apply together to work as a team.</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Provide daily care and assistance to the client including support with hygiene and toileting.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Encourage the client to utilize the bathroom for bowel movements and assist with clean-up afterwards. The client uses the shower for bowel movements and his diaper to urinate in.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with medication management and ensure proper administration of medications as prescribed.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Assist with providing transportation as needed.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the client in engaging in preferred activities including swimming, puzzles, and playing with cars.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Support the client in building social and communication skills by modeling appropriate behavior and encouraging him to use his communication device.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Manage behavior challenges that arise including mild to moderate aggression and emotional dysregulation by providing guidance on more acceptable responses and redirecting when necessary.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.</li>\n<li>Experience working with high behavioral needs preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Be patient, caring, and kind.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Direct Support Professional (DSP) / In Home Care Giver Responsibilities and Duties:</span></p>\n<p>This role involves caring for a client on an individual basis in their home environment as well as taking them out into the community to learn skills and socialize. This role varies depending on the client but can involve teaching skills of independent living such as self-care, behavior management, budgeting, cooking, shopping and cleaning. Family Relief Resources is not a physical facility -100% of activities happen in the community or a client’s home.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>The day-to-day duties of the DSP role requires:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Smart Phone</em><br>- The state requires all client visits to be tracked with GPS location verification at clock in/out. You will need a smart phone to access the timekeeping application once you arrive at the client’s location.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Driving</em><br>- Have a valid license and car with current insurance. Some clients will need transportation.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Documenting</em><br>- Must create and enter specific progress notes after each shift. Also, a progress report is due once per quarter.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Scheduling</em><br>- Each DSP has a set schedule and must be able to maintain this with clients.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Reliability</em><br>- Because Family Relief Resources is not a facility, we need reliable employees who can work independently, show up for their shifts, and be excellent communicators with their client’s families and with our agency.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Patient, Kind, and Positive</em><br>- Helping those with disabilities requires a person who can be patient in all situations, show kindness, and have a positive attitude toward the client and other members of the client’s family even in challenging situations.</li>\n<li><em>Flexibility</em><br>- Being able to adjust to different types of personalities and disabilities from day to day.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Minimum Job Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>18 years or older</li>\n<li>Pass a Criminal History Check.</li>\n<li>Work a minimum of 15 hours per month.<br></li>\n<li>CPR and First Aid Certificate (within 3 months of hire)</li>\n<li>State required online training courses (pre-hire and within 3 months of hire)</li>\n<li>Continuing Education (24 hours per year)</li>\n<li>Basic knowledge of technology, including the ability to use a smartphone for timekeeping, submitting daily and quarterly shift reports, communication with office and client family, and additional requirements as needed.</li>\n<li>Has direct experience working with children and/or adults with varying levels of support needs (Including experience with intellectual and/or behavioral disabilities).\n<ul>\n<li>\n<ul>\n<li>Understand requirements of maintaining confidentiality and safeguarding individual information.</li>\n<li>Be literate and capable of understanding written and oral orders.</li>\n<li>Be able to communicate with individuals, health care providers, case managers, and appropriate others.</li>\n<li>Be able to respond to emergency situations when services are being delivered.</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span>Direct Support Professional / In Home Care Giver Benefits Include:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Part-time or Full-time work opportunities</li>\n<li>Holiday pay (time and a half)</li>\n<li>Medical, Vision and Dental Insurance (30+ hours per week)</li>\n<li>Paid vacation (30+ hours per week, 6 months after hire)</li>\n<li>401k with employer match (30+ hours per week, 1 year after hire)</li>\n<li>Paid sick days</li>\n<li>Paid continuing education opportunities</li>\n<li>Free gym membership</li>\n</ul>",
