Other<br>duties may be performed as permitted by Texas laws and regulations adopted by the<br>state agencies that are not mentioned here. Specific functions may, from time to time,<br>change. These functions include:<br>Essential Functions<br>? Must be able to treat patients who exhibit challenging, self-injurious, and<br>aggressive behaviors.<br>? Must be able to recognize that the challenging behaviors are a mode of<br>communication of a need/want rather than a sign that a patient is untreatable.<br>? Carries out individual and, at times, small group treatment sessions following<br>treatment plans for outpatient and school caseloads.<br>? Collaborates with Speech Therapist regarding all plans of care for outpatient and<br>school caseloads, including discussing progress towards goals and updates to<br>plans of care as needed (SLPA only).<br>? Completes all documentation that is required for each patient (daily notes,<br>summaries of progress).<br>? Communicates with physicians, appropriate members of staff, and patient and<br>family members regarding patient needs and progress, either by documentation<br>or, if necessary, direct contact.<br>? Supplies billing information to the appropriate staff in a proper and timely manner for<br>all patient procedures.<br>? Participates in and attends rehabilitation team conferences and clinic staff<br>meetings as scheduled.</p><p>? Observes patient confidentiality and follows HIPAA guidelines.<br>? Monitors inventory of supplies and equipment. Requests orders of needed<br>supplies and equipment in a timely manner to avoid emergency orders.<br>? Keeps informed of changes and innovations in the field through professional<br>contacts, literature, and continuing education.<br>? Assumes personal responsibility for professional development and continuing<br>education.<br>? Provides education and counseling to patients and their families that will reinforce<br>the therapy provided in the clinic.<br>? Demonstrates skills of effective time management.<br>? Demonstrates positive interpersonal communication skills while maintaining<br>standards of professional ethics.<br>? Follows all ATC Policy &amp; Procedures.<br>? Performs other duties as delegated, required, or requested.<br>Physical Requirements<br>? Capable of lifting, guarding, transferring, and maneuvering patients of all sizes and<br>weights utilizing assistance or special equipment as needed on a recurring<br>basis and in a safe manner<br>? Manual dexterity and visual acuity to safely apply all necessary modalities<br>and operate the equipment.<br>? Must be able to follow written procedures and verbal directives.<br>?
