    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Painter/ Maintenance Job Description</strong></h3><p>&nbsp;</p><p>Department: Maintenance &amp; Repair</p><p>Typically Reports to: Chief Engineer</p><p>FLSA: Non- Exempt</p><p>Job band: 9</p><p>Keeping our hotel running smoothly is vital to our guest's experience – as Painter/Maintenance Engineer you’ll keep everything looking sharp and running like clockwork. From simple repairs to forward-thinking for the next day. With naturally high standards to support our own, you’ll approach every task with devotion and pride. &nbsp;</p><p>The Painter/ Maintenance Engineer is responsible for painting, plastering, and wallpapering guest rooms and public areas to ensure a safe, efficient, well-maintained hotel environment. &nbsp;Other duties include hotel preventative maintenance and guest calls.</p><p><strong>Your day to day</strong></p><p>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Apply paint, stain and other finishes to property walls, ceilings, and furniture using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Apply primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces for finish coats.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Maintains (paint, wallpaper, plaster, etc.) all public areas and guest rooms on an on-going basis.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Keep the hotel decor in good condition.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Remove old finishes by stripping, sanding, wire brushing, burning, or using water and/or abrasive blasting.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Cover surfaces with appropriate material for protection during painting and post appropriate paint signs.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Stores paint, tools and equipment in appropriate areas.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Respond and complete guest requests in a timely and professional manner.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Complete all assigned preventative maintenance assignments.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Repair or replace items around the hotel and refurbish items in guest rooms. By keeping on top of these tasks, you’ll keep our hotels looking great and working well.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Organize supplies and make sure equipment is ready for the next day&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Adhere to hotel safety standards and live up to high safety standards – follow guidelines and tell your supervisor about any incidents, dangerous conditions or unsafe equipment&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Take responsibility for the safety and cleanliness of areas inside and outside the hotel, like the car park and pool&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Always keep an eye out for improvements – follow the preventative maintenance calendar and keep everything working and efficient at all times&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Be a friendly face and helping hand to our guests&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Keep your supervisor or duty manager in the loop and tell them about any low running supplies&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Look smart and approachable in your uniform&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Be ready to take on extra duties as and when the team needs you<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Other duties as requested and assigned by management.</p><p><strong>What we need from you:</strong><br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Experience – you’ll have at least one year of maintenance or repair work under your belt&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;A high school diploma or related vocational training&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;You’ll be familiar with Microsoft Office, a building management program and/or any other reporting tools.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;On top of building equipment and hand tools, you’ll have a working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrics and preventative maintenance procedures&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;CPO certification – if the hotel has a pool, a Certified Pool Operator license would be ideal&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Fitness – you’ll be on your feet most of the day, and will need to bend and kneel a lot. Carrying, lifting, pushing and/or pulling up to 150 lbs.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Frequently bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and crawling<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Great communication skills, you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to speak to.&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility&nbsp;<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The hospitality business functions seven (7) days a week, twenty-four hours a day. The work schedule is based on the demands of the business you must be available days, nights, overnights, weekends, and/or holiday availability as required.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Speaking, reading and writing in English in order to document or record all tasks completed, to order supplies, to receive their instructions for the day and/or to read equipment repair manuals.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition, this is a hospitality business, and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;All duties and requirements are essential job functions.<br>•&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the employee occupying this position.
