Arrow is an industry leading transportation, distribution and materials handling organization.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are looking for a <strong>Mobile Mechanic</strong> to join our <strong>Portable Wood Processing division in Kamloops, BC.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The Mobile Mechanic is responsible for coordinating, scheduling, and performing maintenance activities for a fleet of heavy haul and bush grind trucks and equipment. This position will perform mechanical repairs and diagnostics in the field and may move trucks and/or equipment to and from job sites and repair facilities. The Mechanic ensures that all fleet assets are safe, compliant, and in optimal working condition to support continuous operations.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs for trucks and equipment</li>\n <li>Perform mechanical and electrical repairs in the field (e.g., hoses, fittings, tires, lights, batteries, and basic troubleshooting)</li>\n <li>Diagnose issues and coordinate more complex repairs with certified technicians or external shops</li>\n <li>Provide routine maintenance on tractors, trailers and mobile equipment such as excavators, graders and wheel loaders </li>\n <li>Check all equipment for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions</li>\n <li>May operate mobile shop vehicle to repair vehicles in field</li>\n <li>May operate Class 1 vehicles to move units between job sites, shops, and yards as needed</li>\n <li>Assist in recovery and transport of disabled units from remote or bush locations</li>\n <li>Liaise with drivers, mechanics, and vendors to ensure timely service and minimal downtime</li>\n <li>Operate equipment such as truck cab computers, 2-way radios, and telephones to exchange necessary information with bases, dispatch, supervisors, or other drivers</li>\n <li>Complete electronic logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair status</li>\n <li>Ensure that all customers, co-workers and the public are dealt with professionally and with respect</li>\n <li>Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations</li>\n <li>Perform incidental welding repairs on equipment</li>\n <li>Will keep track of truck and trailer downtime and let team know when a unit is OOS and when it is back in service</li>\n <li>Will take calls and texts from drivers on needed repairs and you will be responsible to prioritize the repairs</li>\n <li>From time to time we may do other repairs for other divisions and invoice through TMT</li>\n <li>Other duties as required</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>You Possess</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Journeyman's certificate, Red Seal, or equivalent qualification</li>\n <li>Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics and electrical, including schematics and diagnostics.</li>\n <li>Recent experience with routine maintenance operations.</li>\n <li>Ability to work independently in remote/bush environments.</li>\n <li>Comfortable using computers and learning new software applications.</li>\n <li>Clean driver’s abstract with no suspensions</li>\n <li>Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening</li>\n <li>At least two previous supervisory references</li>\n <li>Valid Class 1 Drivers license is preferred</li>\n <li>Previous experience coordinating fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment is an asset</li>\n <li>Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment</li>\n <li>Ability to deal with people tactfully and professionally at all times</li>\n <li>Ability to work well under pressure</li>\n <li><strong>Embody Arrow's core values: Safety, Quality, Integrity, Responsibility, Teamwork, and Fun! </strong></li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>#IND</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2></h2>\n<p></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Arrow has been recognized as a Top Fleet Employer of Distinction, a SmartWay Transport Partner, a BCTA Clean Carrier, a BC Hydro Clean Energy Champion and as a Carrier of Excellence in Women's Leadership.</p>",
