Employees may be cross trained in other clinical areas and may be expected to perform duties other than their normal ones as staffing and patient needs change.</p>\r\n\r\n<p><strong><u>Responsibilities:</u></strong></p>\r\n\r\n<ol>\r\n\t<li>Orients, instructs, and trains assigned personnel.</li>\r\n\t<li>Cooperates with other personnel to achieve department objectives and maintain good employee relations, as well as interdepartmental objectives.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs a variety of nursing administrative duties.</li>\r\n\t<li>Provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as required and adjusts nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.</li>\r\n\t<li>Prepares patients for scheduled procedures to assist in patient assessment.</li>\r\n\t<li>Monitors medical condition of patients and reports changes to appropriate personnel.</li>\r\n\t<li>Demonstrates sensitivity to patients&rsquo; comfort and privacy and expresses interest in their progress.</li>\r\n\t<li>Assists physicians with examinations, procedures and other processes related to direct patient care.</li>\r\n\t<li>Writes initial nursing histories, assesses patients&rsquo; conditions, and develops individual care plans for patients assigned to the unit.</li>\r\n\t<li>Assists attending physicians as needed.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.</li>\r\n\t<li>Consistently completes required number of charts audits each month.</li>\r\n\t<li>Performs other nursing duties as assigned or requested.</li>\r\n\t<li>Ensures an adequate stock of supplies and proper functioning of equipment.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains established center/departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.</li>\r\n\t<li>Inspects area daily for compliance with policies, procedures, regulations, and standards and takes corrective action when violations occur.</li>\r\n\t<li>Attends meetings as required.</li>\r\n\t<li>Maintains confidentiality of patient and center related business.</li>\r\n\t<li>Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, and visitors.</li>\r\n\t<li>Documents concisely, precisely, and accurately on all medical records or documents as indicated by policy.
