    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-size: 18pt\">Job Description</span></p>\n\n<a href=\"https://sawinc.bamboohr.com/hiring/jobs/edit/136\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"></a><br>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Are you passionate about helping young adults with developmental disabilities find their path after high school?</span></p>\n<p><br>SAW, Inc.'s <span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><em>Next Steps</em></span><span> </span>program provides a structured, supportive environment for individuals transitioning into adulthood—whether they're pursuing employment, community involvement, or personal growth.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>We are seeking a dedicated <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Employment Transition Specialist<span> </span></span>to support our Next Steps<br>program at our Beachwood Adult Activity Center.  In this role, you will:</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Facilitate Next Steps programming on a weekly basis</li>\n<li>Accompany groups to community-based work or volunteer experiences<br></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: inherit; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: inherit\">Provide consistent support, modeling and coaching to help individuals build independence and confidence</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: inherit; font-size: 12pt; font-weight: inherit\">Required paperwork including daily documentation, vocational evaluations and assessments and other documents as assigned</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">This position is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their work, is adaptable, and is passionate about helping individuals prepare for successful transitions into employment and greater independence.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Responsibilities</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Guide individuals through their transition from high school to adulthood with a focus on employment readiness, personal development, and community/social engagement</li>\n<li>Facilitate soft skills classes covering topics such as communication, teamwork, time management, workplace etiquette, and independent living skills</li>\n<li>Ability to identify and establish partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations to create a range of paid work and volunteer trial opportunities</li>\n<li>Facilitate and supervise community-based experiences such as job trials, volunteering, and career exploration</li>\n<li>Support participants with resume building, interview preparation, and technology-based learning</li>\n<li>Involve individuals in planning activities and oversee participation in activity</li>\n<li>Plan and provide transportation to community outings in SAW vehicle</li>\n<li>Build relationships with local employers, volunteer sites, and community partners to create inclusive opportunities</li>\n<li>Foster a positive, respectful group dynamic while also addressing individual goals and needs</li>\n<li>Assist individuals to learn strategies and provide support to manage conflicts</li>\n<li>Maintain accurate documentation of participant progress and program activities</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">Qualifications</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High school diploma or GED (degree preferred)</li>\n<li>Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities </li>\n<li>Computer literacy skills, including Windows applications, Microsoft Office, Smart Board, and basic database usage</li>\n<li>Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills</li>\n<li>Ability to motivate and empower individuals to build independence and confidence</li>\n<li>Organized, flexible, able to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment</li>\n<li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with the ability to arrive to work on time every day</li>\n<li>Must be able to pass required background checks</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Benefits Offered: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>$1,200 Signing Bonus</span></li>\n<li><span>Increase after 90 days</span></li>\n<li><span>Medical</span></li>\n<li><span>Dental</span></li>\n<li><span>Vision</span></li>\n<li><span>Employer-Sponsored Life Insurance</span></li>\n<li><span>Paid Time Off (PTO) &amp; Holidays</span></li>\n<li><span>403-B with 3% match</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Hours of Work:</span></p>\n<p>7:15 a.m. - 2:45 p.m., Monday - Friday</p>\n<p><br></p>\n\n\n\n",
