    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Client Support Worker – Job Posting</span></span></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Client Support Team</span></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The John Howard Society of Thunder Bay is seeking individuals looking to gain experience and/or supplement to their current employment, to join the Client Support Team as casual.</p>\n<p>JHS provides 24/7 oversight and support offering transitional housing services to clients who are at risk, or currently involved in the Criminal Justice System. </p>\n<p>As part of the Client Support Team, staff are trained to follow protocols and procedures of each residency program providing services to residents.</p>\n<p>Casual staff are not guaranteed regularly (weekly) scheduled hours; shifts will be offered to provide coverage as needed.</p>\n<p>This shift schedule operates 7 days per week and 4 hours daily from 7:30 pm to 11:30 pm.</p>\n<p>Casual staff will have opportunities for professional development through ongoing training (with compensation).</p>\n<p>Organization meetings and Team meetings welcome casual staff to attend (with compensation).</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Summary:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>This position will be responsible for the daily cleaning and sanitization of the JHS residence to meet required standards</li>\n<li>This position will be responsible for completing daily tasks which are listed for each shift</li>\n<li>This position may also be responsible for assisting residents as needed</li>\n<li>This position may also be responsible for assisting and taking direction from Client Support Staff working the Primary Role</li>\n<li>This position may also be responsible for providing recreational activities for residents</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Duties &amp; Tasks:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Aid residents in their development of life skills for independent living through role modelling skills, assistance with meal preparation, guidance and support with chores</li>\n<li>Provide engagement and support to residents through offering recreational activities </li>\n<li>Follow and ensure completion of procedures and protocols to ensure safety and security of residence(s)</li>\n<li>Complete tasks that assist the operation of the residence(s) and adherence to legislative requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Education &amp; Experience:</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Previous experience working in a housekeeping role.</li>\n<li>Experience working with individuals considered vulnerable or from marginalized populations (i.e.: Homelessness, Mental Health, Addictions, Youth, Women, LGBTQ2STT, Indigenous, Racialized) </li>\n<li>Previous experience working within social services is an asset</li>\n<li>Previous experience within customer service is an asset</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Skills &amp; Expectations</span></span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ability to effectively communicate and contribute to a positive work environment </li>\n<li>Ability to follow direction/instruction, protocols, and procedures </li>\n<li>Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds</li>\n<li>Must complete training and professional development as required</li>\n<li>Must complete enhanced security clearance requirements</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Position Details</span></span><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Compensation:</span> $18.35/hour</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Minimum Experience:</span> Entry-Level</p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Employment Type:</span> Casual</p>\n<p>                               ***We thank all applicants for their interest.
