Possess an Intermediate or Advanced Level Law Enforcement Certificate awarded by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission. Law enforcement instructor certification from the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standards Commission is preferred. 500 hours of Law Enforcement continuing education (400 hours with AA degree, 300 hours with BA/BS degree). Must meet and maintain all minimum and local training and education requirements for the position and maintain sufficient physical and mental conditioning to perform the work of a police officer.
