Prioritizes imaging needs for an assigned group of patients.</li>\n <li>Collaborates with other members of the health team to determine patient care priorities.</li>\n <li>Assists in identifying complex patient problems related to symptoms, behavioral changes, and abnormal diagnostic data.</li>\n <li>Evaluates patient's response of procedural care delivery.</li>\n <li>Practices radiation protection techniques.</li>\n <li>Takes precautions to minimize patient and staff exposure to x-radiation.</li>\n <li>Notifies supervisor of safety issues as they occur.</li>\n <li>Assures continuity and quality of care through effective decision-making and continuous patient assessment.</li>\n <li>Anticipates potential patient crisis through continual evaluation of patient care.</li>\n <li>Assists with appropriate care interventions for identified patient problems.</li>\n <li>Utilized standards of care and/or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the radiologic procedure.</li>\n <li>Involves the patient and or significant others in the radiologic process.</li>\n <li>Assists with teaching patient and family education.</li>\n <li>Provides teaching plans to patient and family based on identified needs.</li>\n <li>Communicates effectively with patient, family, and all members of the health care team.</li>\n <li>Documents procedural elements and all aspects of patient care as required by established departmental procedures.</li>\n <li>Formulates goals for professional growth.</li>\n <li>Identifies patient advocacy opportunities.</li>\n <li>Complies with established policies and procedures.</li>\n <li>Participates in continuous performance improvement data collection and research activities.</li>\n <li>Acts as a resource for less experienced staff.</li>\n <li>Teaches students or visiting technologists breast pathology, techniques, positioning and special views of the breast, and in the use of mammography equipment, etc.</li>\n <li>Provides clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff.</li>\n <li>Participates in unit orientation of new staff. Uses outcomes of research in practice.</li>\n <li>Collects data as delegated.</li>\n <li>May serve as a departmental representative.</li>\n <li>Participates as needed in the following: continuing performance improvement (P) committees, education committees, Fire Marshall, etc.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology and registered with the ARRT.</li>\n <li>They must have a minimum of two (2) years experience with one (1) year in Mammography.</li>\n <li>Advanced certification in Mammography is required.</li>\n <li>Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification in accordance with the American Heart Association required.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium): 20-50 lbs; 0-33% of the work day (occasionally); 11-25 lbs, 34-66% of the workday (frequently); 01-10 lbs, 67-100% of the workday (constantly); Lifting 50 lbs max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs; Occasional to frequent standing & walking, Occasional sitting, Close eye work (computers, typing, reading, writing), Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environment conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include, but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste Chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock, Floor Surfaces, Hot/Cold Temperatures, Indoor/Outdoor conditions, Latex, Lighting, Patient care/handling injuries, Radiation, Shift work, Travel may be required.
