          "text": "<p>The Survey Party Chief will lead the field survey crew and be responsible for the organization, efficiency, and accuracy of work performed and data obtained.&#xa0; The purpose of the Party Chief position is to manage Surveyors and effectively, efficiently and safely carry out duties as assigned.</p><ul><li>Oversees the development and execution of construction, right-of-way, control, topographic, and/or other related survey duties</li><li>Collaborates with stakeholders, including local officials, engineers, contractors, and supervisors, during the planning phase of a project</li><li>Determines appropriate surveying techniques to be used on each project</li><li>Collaborates with utility companies to ensure surveys are properly executed for public streets/easements</li><li>Gathers survey data using global positioning systems (GPS) and other surveying tools to map areas and measure angles, distances, and elevations</li><li>Analyzes plans, plats, and legal documents to appropriately plan and schedule work</li><li>Defines boundaries for property and rights of way</li><li>Drafts reports, descriptions, and other documentation for all surveys performed</li><li>Ensures final maps display a comprehensive and accurate description of the field survey</li><li>Ensures the work of all crew members meets standards and that assigned tasks are completed timely</li><li>Completes any surveying tasks crew members are unable to complete</li><li>Accurately complete administrative forms and reports in a timely fashion</li><li>Adhere to all rules, regulations, and procedures, including those necessary to maintain required licenses, certifications, and/or registrations</li><li>Attend meetings requested by supervisor and communicate effectively</li><li>Carry out job functions with or without supervision and apply common sense instructions</li><li>Carry out job functions without posing a direct threat to the health or safety of self/others</li><li>Effectively and efficiently carry out written and verbal job-related instructions</li><li>Exercise courtesy and tact when dealing with others</li><li>Maintain acceptable attendance/punctuality standards</li><li>Maintain quality and quantity work standards</li><li>Maintain appropriate behavior in accordance with Equal Employment Opportunity protocols</li><li>Read labels and written instructions, which are typically in English</li><li>Request assistance when appropriate, including but not limited to, the safe and efficient use and operation of equipment, tools, machines, and vehicles</li><li>Respond to inquiries and/or complaints in a timely and professional manner</li><li>Safely perform all job functions</li><li>Understand and comply with safety, personnel, and other policies and procedures</li><li>Work effectively and harmoniously in a culturally and ethnically diverse workforce</li><li>Work in coordination with others</li><li>Work under pressure, which is associated with this type of position</li><li>Apply supervisory principles to analyze and resolve problems</li><li>Appropriately use budgeted funds, personnel, equipment, materials, facilities, time</li><li>Effectively give instructions, train, and educate</li><li>Provide leadership, direction, and positive motivation</li><li>Set realistic goals</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned by your manager</li></ul>",
