    "description": "<h2>Job Description</h2>\n<p>Vertex Pharmaceuticals is looking for a Supply Chain Senior Specialist who will support Material Operations.  The ideal candidate will have experience performing inventory analytics, inventory/raw material, planning, and forecasting experience in a <strong>pharmaceutical environment (</strong><strong>biologics, drug product, cell & gene)</strong>.  Candidate must also be experienced with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams.  Experience with Power Bi and Smartsheet a plus.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Candidate must have experience:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Raw material and consumable forecasting in a drug product environment</li>\n <li>Develop forecasts, analyze risk, adjust safety stock</li>\n <li>Manual planning experience and/or experience leveraging ERP/MRP</li>\n <li>Purchasing: Experience placing purchase orders, confirming with vendors, maintaining open order reports</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Key Duties and Responsibilities:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Represents Material Operations department on assigned project sub-teams and/or task forces and, with general guidance, executes supply chain production activities. </li>\n <li>Support or manage projects related to warehouse operations, ERP master data, material planning, and or material purchasing.</li>\n <li>Participates in the creation and maintenance of material forecasts and replenishment models.</li>\n <li>Draft and maintain inventory models and reports to drive E&O analysis, SKU rationalization, and inventory balancing.</li>\n <li>Create and update capacity models, measure activity drivers, and prepare proposals for schedule optimization.</li>\n <li>Drive material and supplier onboarding activities to include the creation of master files, material specifications, and initiate master data requests.</li>\n <li>Create, track and publish open order reports.</li>\n <li>Executes purchase requisitions for suppliers and coordinates material deliveries.</li>\n <li>May perform or aid others in negotiation of schedule, delivery, cost, terms, etc.</li>\n <li>Works with suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve quality, delivery, or financial issues.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with purchasing professionals and cross-functional stakeholders pursuing opportunities for continuous improvement.</li>\n <li>Maintains warehouse and purchasing master data to include lead time, pricing, approved vendors, etc. </li>\n <li>Participates in the development and improvement of Materials Management processes, standard work, and tools.</li>\n <li>Focuses on immediate and urgent business needs while remaining engaged in continuous improvement. </li>\n <li>Prioritize and perform assignments independently to satisfy required timelines, providing periodic updates and feedback to stakeholders and managers. </li>\n <li>Maintain strong cross functional relationships to bolster communication with all stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Knowledge and Skills:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Hands-On Knowledge of warehouse operations, material planning, and purchasing processes</li>\n <li>Experience with ERP and digital planning systems.</li>\n <li>Proven ability to manage multiple projects with high degree of collaboration. </li>\n <li>Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely (written/oral).</li>\n <li>Experience with quality management systems (change controls, deviations, etc) </li>\n <li>Strong prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry </li>\n <li>Experience working in a cGMP environment </li>\n <li>Experience in clinical and commercial drug product manufacturing environments. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience:</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in supply chain/manufacturing Operations-related disciplines, or comparable work experience</li>\n <li>3-5 years’ work experience </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Range</h2>\n<p><strong>$55-$65/hr</strong></p>\n<h2>Requisition Disclaimer</h2>\n<p>This job posting is for a temporary role with a third-party agency partner on assignment at Vertex Pharmaceuticals (“Vertex”).
