Salary Details The salary range for this position is CAD $44.85/Hr. - CAD $56.02/Hr. Job Summary Come work as a Speech Language Pathologist with Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) at Pacific Spirit Community Health Centre in Vancouver, BC! Relocation Assistance may be available. Within the context of a client/family service culture and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values, goals of Vancouver Coastal Health, the Speech-Language Pathologist provides family-centered speech and language services to children from birth to school entry (or 5 years of age) and their families. Responsibilities include the provision of a full range of clinical assessment and intervention services, community consultation and education, and implementation of a population health approach targeting primary prevention activities and promotion of healthy communication in the general population. Qualifications Education & Experience Current full registration as a Speech Language Pathologist with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). Two (2) years recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Valid BC Drivers Licence. Local area travel requires the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage will be reimbursed. Knowledge & Abilities Knowledge of speech-language pathology diagnostic and therapeutic principals, procedures and approaches, and clinical best practices relevant to the birth to school-entry population. Specialized knowledge of early child development, adult learning and principles of family-centered service. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with children and families, team members, other groups and community agency personnel. Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and prioritize workload. Demonstrated ability to work both independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with conflict situations. Demonstrated ability to operate computer equipment and other related technology. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver presentations. Demonstrated ability to manage ongoing purposeful change. Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position. Closing Statement The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.As per Ministry of Health policy, all health care workers working in publicly-funded health care facilities are required to report their past receipt of certain vaccines or history of certain infections. Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
