They care for patients during\na stressful part of their health journey, whether they are seeking a diagnosis,\npreparing for surgery, or ensuring all systems are okay. Lab assistants perform\nactivities to support the collection of blood, urine, and other specimens for\nlaboratory testing. Performs EKGs/ places Holter monitors. Works within Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Laboratory Information System (LIS) to manage patient orders. Scans completed EKGs into EHR.&nbsp;</p><p style=\"line-height: 1.15;\"><strong>Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: &nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Graduate of an accredited phlebotomy school or equivalent experience.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Phlebotomy certification by a national testing agency or equivalent experience.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Working knowledge of Medical terminology as it applies to nomenclature associated with Laboratory Diagnostic orders.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Effective organizational, planning, interpersonal, and customer service skills.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Must be detail oriented; able to maintain accuracy with frequent interruptions.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Ability to perform data entry via the Laboratory Information System (LIS).</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Ability to manage orders between Electronic Health Record system and LIS to facilitate accurate sample collection and generation of charges for billing.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Ability to support attendance and punctuality standards.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Ability to work all shifts, regardless of the day of the week.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion, and decision-making.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1.15;\">Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, providers and the public.
