Hardware Design Engineer At Nexthop AI., we are searching for a driven and innovative Hardware Design Engineer who is excited about shaping the future of datacenter AI infrastructure. If you thrive on tackling complex challenges and have a passion for system design and integrating advanced optical modules, we’d love to have you on our team. About the Role As a Hardware Design Engineer, you’ll play a pivotal role in creating cutting-edge hardware solutions for the networking industry. From concept to production, you’ll design systems that deliver top-notch performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness, ensuring our products meet the needs of modern data centers AI applications. What You’ll Do Design and develop Ethernet switches, CPU subsystems, memory, and networking interfaces. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical/thermal engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain. Perform system-level analysis, simulation, and rigorous validation and testing. Contribute to refining and implementing best practices for design processes and standards. What We’re Looking For Technical Expertise A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s or Master’s). Experience in hardware system design, especially with: Complex circuit board design with highspeed serdes and high power ASICs CPU subsystems (e.g., x86, ARM, PowerPC, BMC). Signal integrity, power integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Power management systems (DC/DC, AC/DC) and thermal management. Digital logic design (VHDL, Verilog). Industry regulations and standards (e.g., UL, CE, FCC). Proven track record of shipping multiple generations of products Soft Skills Driven and takes ownership of your project Can “do what it takes to succeed” and be a team player simultaneously Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across diverse teams. Analytical thinking with a knack for solving complex problems. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring on-site presence three days per week.
