    "jobDescription": "<p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Posting End Date</b></p>06-15-2026<p style=\"text-align:left\">Please note the job posting will close on the day before the posting end date</p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Summary </b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p>The Meter Electrician teams install and maintain self-contained electric meters in the shop and on customer premises.<p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p style=\"text-align:left\"><b>Job Description</b></p><p style=\"text-align:inherit\"></p><p><b>What you’ll do as a Meter Electrician C:</b></p><ul><li><p>Read meters as required for field order and on schedule for cycle billing.</p></li><li><p>Install, remove, change, disconnect, and reconnect meters.</p></li><li><p>Test single-phase, network, and polyphase self-contained meters for proper operation and accuracy.</p></li><li><p>Program meters.</p></li><li><p>Perform Credit and Collections related to order including disconnect and reconnect for non-payment.</p></li><li><p>Investigate irregular usage.</p></li><li><p>Investigate energy diversion.</p></li><li><p>Repair meters, meter sockets, and meter enclosures.</p></li><li><p>Order, receive, ship, store, and inventory meter and associated equipment.</p></li><li><p>Investigate self-contained service power quality problems, install event recorders, neutral testers, and produce reports.</p></li><li><p>Program, test, and troubleshoot relay controls for capacitors, regulators, and reclosers.</p></li><li><p>Install antennas and radios for smart grid devices.</p></li><li><p>Perform work from ladders and elevated platforms.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>What we’re looking for in a successful candidate:</b></p><ul><li><p>Within 24 months of employment, successfully complete the Company&#39;s training and qualification program for this position including: classroom instruction; written examination; job mentoring; and job performance demonstrations.</p></li><li><p>Work overtime as needed including extended daily shifts and weekends.</p></li><li><p>Work late shifts as needed.</p></li><li><p>Work independently under semi-direct supervision in a safe-efficient, and productive manner.</p></li><li><p>Proficiently use computers and applications related to this position.</p></li><li><p>Effectively communicate with other employees, customer, and the public in a courteous and appropriate manner.</p></li><li><p>Promote a positive image of the Company to customer and the public.</p></li><li><p>Comply with all aspects of the AEP Corporate Code of Conduct.</p></li><li><p>Report hazards and abnormal conditions.</p></li><li><p>Attend and participate in training as assigned and assist in the training of other employees.</p></li><li><p>There are additional expectations for the job and could include specific work experience, license / certifications, preemployment testing, expectations about travel, shift work, etc.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>Minimum Qualifications for all levels:</b></p><ul><li><p>Associate degree in electrical/electronic technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work experience of four years.</p></li><li><p>Qualified backgrounds include substation, metering, instrumentation, controls, power systems, or electrical maintenance, with demonstrated hands-on experience in testing, troubleshooting, and working with electrical equipment.
