    "description": "<h2>Department Overview</h2>\n<p>This position supports OHSU patients with access to medications. Person working this shift is responsible for ensuring accountability and accuracy of standard operations procedures in these areas.</p>\n<h2>Function/Duties of Position</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Process medication assistance requests from patients, providers, pharmacists and clinic staff.</p></li>\n <li><p>Provide telephonic support for various programs including but not limited to Medication Assistance, Specialty Pharmacy Program and prior authorizations </p></li>\n <li><p>Provide telephonic outreach to patients for Specialty Pharmacy Program including but not limited to program introduction, enrollment, and refill reminders </p></li>\n <li><p>Coordinate medication delivery of manufacturer-provided assistance product o including but not limited to receiving freight, verifying FedEx delivery information and outreach to manufacturers to verify receipt. </p></li>\n <li><p>Provide support to specialty pharmacy clinics, including submitting documentation to support prior authorization and medication assistance </p></li>\n <li><p>Demonstrate understanding of integrated health record documentation, reporting, as well as utilization of multiple system platforms</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>High School Diploma, </p></li>\n <li><p>Active State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License <strong>AND</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>1 year of pharmacy work experience, or equivalent additional education; <strong>AND</strong></p></li>\n <li><p>Certification from the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or National Healthcareer Association. Certification must be maintained.</p></li>\n <li><p>Must possess computer keyboarding skills.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to read and understand medical-related terms. </li>\n <li>Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations. </li>\n <li>Skill at manipulating small objects, e.g., needles, syringes, ampules. </li>\n <li>Ability to use mechanical system for transfer of fluids. </li>\n <li>Knowledge of and skill at application of aseptic technique. </li>\n <li>Ability to establish priorities in workflow.</li>\n <li>Good interpersonal communication skills. </li>\n <li>Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Preferred Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Formal pharmacy technician training program </li>\n <li>Medical office setting experience or health system experience </li>\n <li>Inpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacy experience. </li>\n <li>Medical and scientific nomenclature. </li>\n <li>Microsoft application knowledge (Word, Excel, Visio, Outlook) </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Additional Details</h2>\n<p>Possible exposure to hazardous chemicals and noise. Understand the difference of non-hazardous and hazardous medications; safely handle hazardous medications per regulatory guidelines. Flexibility in scheduling of shift times.
