As part of our corporate culture, we recognize our role in meeting the current generation’s needs, while preserving environmental quality and protecting the needs of future generations. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are looking for a student intern at our Chattanooga, TN plant who wants to become part of the solution, help us continue providing quality products, and grow our talent and leader pool.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Acquire technical competences related to cement manufacturing and related equipment. This includes knowledge of cement chemistry and standards.</li>\n <li>Perform process studies/audits at the plant; evaluate key performance indicators; follow up with plant personnel; discuss actual versus budgeted equipment operations and performance standards; and provide suggestions to improve/optimize operations.</li>\n <li>Maintain consistent and accurate process related reports and documentation such as mill inspection, process measurements, and time studies.</li>\n <li>Develop strategies and solutions jointly with Management and Engineering teams focused on optimization, automation and process improvement.</li>\n <li>Evaluate, track and optimize process conditions by utilizing process tools to compare/contrast and consolidate incidents.</li>\n <li>Evaluate, track and optimize the kiln’s refractory life by maintaining the company-utilized software dedicated to this purpose.</li>\n <li>Understand the importance of safety as it relates to the various tasks assigned during time spent at the Chattanooga plant.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Desired Major(s):</strong>  Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Desired Class Level(s):</strong>  Sophomore, Junior, Senior</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Salary Level:</strong>  Paid - $30.00 per hour plus monthly housing stipend</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Duration:</strong>  12 weeks, 40 hours per week</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter and inquisitive by nature</li>\n <li>Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products, especially Word, Excel, Project , VISO</li>\n <li>Solid reasoning, analytical, technical and communication skills</li>\n <li>Must possess excellent work ethic </li>\n <li>Must be able to multi-task</li>\n</ul>",
