This position will be based at project sites within California and is well-suited for individuals interested in gaining hands-on field experience. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in the natural environment/outdoors either professionally, academically or recreationally, and an interest in learning to survey for and/or observe  biological and aquatic resources in a natural environment.</p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Work collaboratively with internal Dudek staff to complete survey requirements.</li>\n <li>Record and take notes of any observations on a Dudek electronic platform to be used for reporting purposes.</li>\n <li>Learn and follow all Dudek safety protocols.</li>\n <li>Travel to Project sites located throughout California.</li>\n <li>Hike long distances in potentially inclement weather/heat and rough terrain.</li>\n <li>Apply a high level of attention to detail and work as a part of a team.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Minimum Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, ecology, environmental science, or related field.  .</li>\n <li>Experience in natural outdoor environments, either academically, recreationally or professionally. </li>\n <li>Must possess a valid driver’s license and have active personal automobile liability insurance by the first day of employment.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.</li>\n <li>Possess sound judgement and able to “think on your feet” and can proactively anticipate next steps or outcomes.</li>\n <li>Self-motivated with an interest to learn and grow as a project team.</li>\n <li>Interest in California terrestrial flora and fauna.</li>\n <li>Demonstrate strong oral communication skills and responsiveness. </li>\n <li>Can work collaboratively in small groups or large teams.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Compensation:</strong> $22.00/hourly* </p>\n<p>*Final agreed-upon compensation will be based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s related experience, education, certifications, skills, and work location. Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check prior to beginning employment. </p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions </strong><strong> </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>This job requires project site visits, based outdoors which can include excessive noise, uneven walking surfaces, extreme weather, and moving vehicles and equipment. </li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong> </p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
