Under the general direction of the Executive Director and Wellness Director, primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, administer medications to the residents in a safe, accurate, and timely manner. ***Full-Time-Afternoon Shift-Cottage*** Job Summary: We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Medical Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including assisted living, independent living, and memory care facilities. This role requires a strong understanding of medical procedures, documentation, and residents' interaction, with a focus on supporting individuals with diverse needs such as developmental disabilities, dementia, and chronic conditions. The Medical Technician will play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient, and compassionate care delivery while maintaining compliance with senior living healthcare regulations and privacy standards. Duties: Perform routine patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and documentation of medical histories. Assist with activities of daily living such as mobility support, hygiene, and feeding assistance, including tube feeding when necessary. Administer medications and treatments following prescribed protocols while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Operate Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems such as Epic and Cerner for accurate medical documentation. Support patients with specialized needs including Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and other forms of senior or disability care. Monitor patient conditions and report changes to supervising healthcare professionals promptly. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, medication administration, and other clinical tasks requiring anatomy and physiology knowledge. Maintain cleanliness and safety standards within the healthcare environment to prevent infections and ensure compliance with health regulations. Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare providers to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care. Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Qualifications: Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, hospitals, or home & community care settings is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medication administration protocols. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is highly desirable. Strong caregiving skills with the ability to provide compassionate support for seniors or individuals with disabilities. Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety standards. Certification or licensing as required by state or local regulations for Medical Technicians is preferred but not mandatory; relevant training will be provided if necessary. Excellent communication skills combined with a respectful approach toward patients’ privacy rights under HIPAA regulations.
