The Patient Rep provides a full range of varied, multi-skilled secretarial, clerical and administrative support to the specific imaging locations which requires creativity, independent and discretionary judgment, and complete confidentiality to ensure that the needs of the internal and external customers are met. &nbsp;</p><p><strong>Key Accountabilities:</strong></p><ol><li>Greeting patients and help maintain a timely accurate patient flow through the system.</li><li>Obtains, enters and verifies all patient demographic and insurance data necessary to complete a patient registration.</li><li>Collects insurance co-pays as applicable.</li><li>Completes order entry through interfaced systems based on diagnosis codes and calls physician offices for clarification of orders.</li><li>Explains financial requirements to patients/responsible parties and instructs as to payment procedure when required.</li><li>Obtains all necessary signatures and initiates required documents for scheduled procedures.</li><li>Performs insurance verification processes.</li><li>Schedules all Radiology exams obtaining and entering appropriate symptom and diagnosis information and has familiarity with exam preparations.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepares all required paperwork for scheduled appointments to ensure efficient service on day of procedure(s).</li><li>Interacts with other departments, carriers and physician offices for the purpose of acquiring accurate demographic and insurance information.</li><li>Answers phones with appropriate greeting and transfers calls as needed to the appropriate people.</li><li>Obtains and provides reports and images on CD to patients or physician&rsquo;s offices.</li><li>Follows established policies and procedures set by administration including department cleanliness and disinfecting.</li><li>Assists in the Hereditary Cancer Risk Assessment program.&nbsp;</li><li>Performs other duties as assigned.&nbsp;</li></ol><p><em>The preceding functions have been provided as examples of the types of work performed by employees assigned to this job classification. &nbsp;Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind the work assignments of different positions and to make reasonable accommodations so that qualified employees can perform the essential functions of the job.</em></p><p><strong>Qualifications Guidelines:</strong></p><p>Education Required: &nbsp;&nbsp;</p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent.</li></ul><p>Knowledge, Skills, &amp; Abilities:</p><ul><li>At least one year of customer service experience in a medical setting preferred.&nbsp;</li><li>Knowledge of medical terminology.&nbsp;</li><li>Quality assurance and customer service principles and practices.</li><li>Communicate effectively with patients, relatives, medical staff and co-workers.</li><li>Capacity to relate to patients of all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.</li><li>Maintain the confidentiality of patient records.</li><li>Ability to understand and follow specifications and instructions. Attention to detail is required for success.&nbsp;</li><li>Basic keyboard skills with proficiency in use of personal computer.</li></ul><p>Physical Requirements:</p><ul><li>Remaining in a stationary position, often sitting for prolonged periods.</li><li>Adjusting or moving objects up to 15 pounds in all directions.</li><li>Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.</li><li>Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times. &nbsp;</li><li>Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.</li><li>Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization&rsquo;s facilities</li></ul><p><em>The Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
