This includes the operation of haul trucks, dozers, graders, loaders, and water trucks to move materials, maintain haul roads, and support production targets.</p><p><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Reporting to the Shift Supervisor - Mine, the Mobile Equipment Operator will be responsible for the following:</p><ul><li>Operate mobile equipment such as haul trucks, dozers, graders, excavators, loaders, and water trucks in a safe and efficient manner.</li><li>Perform pre-start inspections and monitor equipment performance throughout the shift.</li><li>Follow production plans and supervisor instructions to complete assigned tasks on time.</li><li>Support dig, dump, and stockpile activities, as well as road maintenance and clean-up operations.</li><li>Maintain awareness of surroundings and communicate effectively with other operators, supervisors, and dispatch.</li><li>Adhere strictly to all site safety procedures, including traffic management, exclusion zones, and environmental regulations.</li><li>Report equipment defects, near misses, or safety incidents promptly.</li><li>Participate in toolbox meetings, training sessions, and safety initiatives.</li><li>Assist with other site duties or equipment operations as required.</li></ul><p><strong>Skills and Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Proven competency operating mobile mining equipment.</li><li>Relevant equipment tickets or verification of competency (VOC) for machines operated.</li><li>Strong knowledge of safe operating procedures, hazard identification, and risk mitigation.</li><li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team in remote, challenging environments.</li><li>Good communication and situational awareness skills.</li></ul><p><strong>Education</strong></p><ul><li>High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).</li><li>Valid driver's license; heavy equipment certification or licensing may be required.</li></ul><p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Exposure to loud noise, dust, heavy machinery, and uneven terrain.</li><li>Some lifting and strength are required.</li><li>Must be available to work shifts, weekends, callouts and company mandated overtime.</li></ul><p><strong>Salary Range:</strong></p><ul><li>$38 - $50 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.</li></ul><p><strong>Benefits</strong>:</p><ul><li><b>Health Insurance</b>: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with an HSA option.</li><li><b>Retirement Plan</b>: 401(k) with 6% company match.</li><li><b>LTD, Life Insurance, and AD&D</b>: Coverage provided by Mesabi Metallics.</li><li><b>Paid Time Off (PTO)</b>:<ul><li>0-5 Years: 120 hours per year.</li><li>5-10 Years: 160 hours per year.</li><li>10+ Years: 200 hours per year.</li><li>Plus 9 paid holiday and 2 floating holidays.</li></ul></li></ul><p>Mesabi Metallics Company LLC is an equal opportunity employer and values diversity in the workplace.
