    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>Decontaminate, clean, process, and sterilize supplies and equipment dispensed by the department, following infection control practices and guidelines.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Follows manufacturer instructions for use for steam and low temperature sterilization</li>\n <li>Follows manufacturer instructions for use for decontamination, disinfection of instruments, and flexible endoscopes according to department standards and industry guidelines</li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of surgical instrument kits</li>\n <li>Demonstrates knowledge of how to properly inspect and assemble kits</li>\n <li>Adheres to hospital policies for CSR as well as follow AAMI guidelines (Association for the Advancement of Medical Instruments</li>\n <li>Performs equipment testing: Bowies and Biologicals, and reports any abnormal results to the supervisor</li>\n <li>Delivery of sterile instruments and kits in a timely manner, within 48 hours, to other departments within the hospital</li>\n <li>Maintains a clean work environment in accordance to regulator guidelines and hospital policy. Damp dusting horizontal surfaces, end of day cleaning, removal of trash and laundry</li>\n <li>Attends staff meetings and in services</li>\n <li>Stays up to date on departmental communication and required annual and periodical competencies</li>\n <li>Participates in orientation of new staff as needed</li>\n <li>Completes other daily tasks as requested and assigned</li>\n <li>Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned</li>\n <li>Answer the phone and take messages when needed</li>\n <li>Help with different reps that come in with trays or help with them taking trays out</li>\n <li>Help the OR when they are looking for a kit or instrument</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Licensure/Certifications</h2>\n<strong>REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:</strong>\n<p>•</p>Central Sterile certification required within 2 years of hire.  To be obtained through CBSPD.",
