    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>This role is eligible for a Sign On/Retention Bonus of $3,000.</strong></p>\n<p>The Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Department at Dartmouth-Hitchcock encompasses Patient Food Services, Clinical Nutrition, and Dining Services. FNS aims to provide a nutritional environment which supports a population-level approach to a healthy diet and aligns with the D-H commitment to improve the health and wellness of our patients, employees, and community and create a sustainable health system.</p>\n<p>A Cook reviews menus, work orders or customer orders to determine type and quantities of food to be prepared. May plan menus and estimate required food quantities, labor and overhead costs.</p>\n<p><strong>To learn more about our Food and Nutrition Services department and roles - watch here</strong>: </p>\n<p></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Prepares vegetables in bulk for later use in recipes.</li>\n<li>Slices deli meats and vegetables for cold food service</li>\n<li>Follows recipes to make bulk products following standardized recipes and production methods. Creates recipes for retail sales.</li>\n<li>Prepares patient nourishment's and write-ins as tallied following proper production procedures.</li>\n<li>Assembles and plates patient salads and sandwiches for tray line assembly. Assembles add-on sheet items and tube feeding items following proper procedures.</li>\n<li>Prepares food items for all areas.</li>\n<li>Ensures that area and equipment are maintained up to accepted standards and quality.</li>\n<li>Loads and operates dish washing equipment. Takes dish machine temperatures daily.</li>\n<li>Takes food temperatures daily to assure compliance with State and Joint Commission standards.</li>\n<li>Performs assigned cleaning functions, ensuring that areas and equipment are maintained up to accepted standards of quality.</li>\n<li>Operates food preparation equipment (ex. slicer, chopper and buffalo)</li>\n<li>Performs catering related duties. Sets up, delivers and/or picks up food items for scheduled functions following existing procedures.</li>\n<li>Maintains and properly stocks all necessary food and supply items.</li>\n<li>Labels and dates all necessary food and supply items.</li>\n<li>Uses and mixes chemicals in a safe manner. Labels all secondary bottles.</li>\n<li>Performs other duties as required or assigned.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma (or GED) strongly preferred.</li>\n <li>Ability to read and write required.</li>\n <li>Prior satisfactory work experience is desired.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Required Licensure/Certifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>None</li>\n</ul>",
