Imagine how it would feel to know that you have helped to transform somebody&rsquo;s life.</p><p>The Caring Place (@Miami Rescue Mission &amp; Broward Outreach Centers) is a leading provider of services to the homeless and needy of South Florida. &nbsp;We are looking for like-minded, dynamic individuals to come and join our team.</p><p><strong><u>ABOUT</u></strong></p><p>The Caring Place provides emergency shelter, residential programs, job training, education &amp; computer literacy classes, healthcare, transitional housing, permanent housing, employment opportunities for homeless men, women, and children as well as programs for &ldquo;at-risk&rdquo; youth.</p><p>We are currently seeking full-time <strong>Guest Service Assistant(s)</strong> to monitor residents at our homeless shelter at the Center for Men in Miami, FL.</p><p><strong>Shift(s) available:</strong><br>7:30AM - 4:00PM<br>1:00PM - 9:30PM<br>2:30PM - 11:00PM<br>11:00PM - 7:30AM&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Including weekends and holidays as needed</strong>&nbsp;</p><p><strong><u>JOB SUMMARY</u></strong><br>&nbsp;<br>The <strong>Guest Service Assistant</strong> <strong>(GSA)</strong> monitors and oversees residential clients at our Centers. Duties include assisting with new resident orientation; providing general oversight of residents in the absence of management; ensuring that residents perform assigned chores; handling emergencies according to policies and procedures; providing operational support for events such as graduations and luncheons; and, coordinating transportation and/or laundry services for residents.</p><p><strong><u>DUTIES</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Oversees front desk, laundry room, Guest Service CSAs and ensures clients and visitors of the Center are treated with respect and dignity</li><li>Routinely checks for hazardous substances and unsafe conditions in the facility and corrects immediately when possible or reports it to Supervisor or Director if unable to remedy</li><li>Reports maintenance problems to Supervisor</li><li>Helps maintain a safe, clean and secure environment for residents, employees, volunteers and visitors</li><li>Handles emergencies according to policies and procedures and notifies management with timely incident reports</li><li>Responds to emails and phone calls in a timely manner, and keeps other staff informed</li><li>Monitors residents throughout the Center, and ensures that all residents are treated with dignity and respect</li><li>Assists with orientation for new residents and volunteers</li><li>Listens to residents, makes decisions based on available facts using wisdom, compassion and according to company policy</li><li>Will lead and/or participate in devotions, prayers, or other ministry activities ex. outreach events</li><li>Must be in agreement with and sign The Caring Place Statement of Faith</li><li>Performs other related duties as assigned&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Requires a high school diploma or GED, some college level coursework in social work or knowledge of addictions and relapse prevention highly preferred</li><li>Must have one (1) year work experience in social services or security-related work</li><li>Must be of good moral character with knowledge of homelessness and addiction issues, and have the ability to lead clients by example</li><li>Must have good communication, computer and organizational skills with knowledge of basic facility maintenance and security</li><li>Must be able to multi-task and make sound decisions in a fair and compassionate manner</li><li>Must have good interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse population and all levels of residents, employees, volunteers and guests</li><li>Must be able to understand, speak, read and write English and carry out oral and written instructions.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Must be very mobile as sitting, walking, standing, stooping, bending and reaching are required to perform&nbsp;essential job duties</li><li>Must have the ability to lift and/or carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds</li><li>Must be able to see, hear and speak, in order to interact with staff and the general public</li><li>Must be able to move around unassisted as needed to perform essential job duties&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong><u>PERKS AND BENEFITS</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Day off for Birthday/Work Anniversary</li><li>Employee Discounts</li><li>Holidays (12)</li><li>Paid Time Off</li><li>Health Insurance (Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, GAP and Health Savings Account)</li><li>Company Paid Life insurance</li><li>403b Retirement Plan with 3% match</li></ul><p>Only qualified candidates will be considered.
