Designated as the Responsible Health Authority.</li><li style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Designates appropriate client referrals to the contracted physician(s) and other medical agencies or practitioners.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Administers physician prescribed medications and vaccines.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Controls and maintains adequate inventory of medications and medical supplies. &nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Responds to all medical emergencies, provides first aid and periodically works &quot;on-call&quot; shifts to provide emergency assistance as needed.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Maintains all medical documentation, medical history, and file on each client and abides by HIPAA compliance rules and regulations.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Actively participates in nursing related performance improvement activities.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Participates in health training of clients to include hygiene, nutrition, and diet.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Coordinates with community service agencies, as required, to ensure routine and emergency medical care for clients and staff members.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Promotes good health habits, hygiene, and nutrition with all clients.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Evaluates continuously the quality of medical care for the clients.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Ensures medical services department complies with all licensing and regulatory statues.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Communicates all pertinent client related medical information to program/facility staff members per HIPPA related rules and regulations.</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Maintains compliance with company exposure plan to include OSHA and bloodborne pathogens.</li></ul><p><br></p><hr><p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></span></p><ul><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">The following educational requirements are acceptable for this classification including:<ul style=\"font-size: initial; font-family: initial;\"><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Licensed practical nurse license to practice in the appropriate State by the board in which the program/facility resides</li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\">Trainer certification eligible or current certification in CPR/First Aid. &nbsp;</li></ul></li><li style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px; font-weight: bold;\"><strong>Other Qualifications:</strong><ul style=\"font-weight: initial; font-size: initial; font-family: initial;\"><li style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;At least twenty-one (21) years of age.</li><li style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;Criminal clearances (Act 33 and 34, specific State &amp; child clearances and, if necessary, FBI).</li><li style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;Non-communicable diseases physical exam.</li><li style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">&nbsp;Valid driver&#39;s license from employee&#39;s state of residence.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">PA Valid registered vehicle insurance.</li><li style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\">Ability to work with computers and the necessary software typically used by the department</li></ul></li></ul><p><br></p><hr><p data-pasted=\"true\"><span style=\"font-size: 18px; font-family: verdana, sans-serif;\"><strong>Who We Are:</strong></span></p><p><span style=\"font-family: verdana, sans-serif; font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Abraxas Youth &amp; Family Services</strong> is a national nonprofit human services provider dedicated to Building Better Futures for at-risk youth, adults, and families.
