Director of Quality Control Location:  Houston, Tx Employment Type:  Full-Time Travel:  25%-50% as required   Position Overview The Director of Quality Control provides corporate leadership and strategic oversight of quality control activities across Hays Electrical Services' mission-critical, data center, industrial, and commercial operations. This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining the Corporate Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring consistent execution of quality standards across all operating regions and projects. The Director serves as the company's senior authority for quality governance, inspection compliance, workmanship standards, commissioning readiness, system turnover, and continuous improvement. The Director leads the QC department, including QC Managers, Coordinators, and project quality personnel, while partnering closely with Operations, Commissioning, and EHS leadership to ensure quality expectations are fully integrated into project execution. The Director serves as a key contributor to Hays Electrical Services' continued growth within the mission-critical construction market by ensuring quality standards support hyperscale client expectations, electrical system reliability, and successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities Implement, maintain, and continuously improve the Corporate Quality Management System (QMS). Establish company-wide quality policies, procedures, inspection requirements, testing requirements, and documentation standards. Standardize Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Corrective Action Reports (CARs), quality audits, and turnover documentation processes. Lead and manage the QC department, including QC Managers, Coordinators, and project quality personnel. Recruit, mentor, train, and develop quality personnel to ensure technical competency and consistent execution of company quality standards. Develop staffing plans, succession planning strategies, and organizational structures to support current and future business operations. Provide corporate governance and oversight of project-level QC programs across all operating regions. Conduct strategic quality assessments, audits, and performance reviews to evaluate program effectiveness and compliance with company standards. Establish quality standards supporting mission-critical electrical infrastructure, including power distribution systems, critical environments, commissioning readiness, and client turnover requirements. Govern QC requirements for Level 2 and Level 3 commissioning activities, including installation verification, inspection readiness, testing documentation, punch management, and turnover deliverables. Ensure project QC teams support client-led Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning activities by verifying prerequisite inspections, documentation, testing records, system readiness, and corrective action closure. Collaborate with the Director of Commissioning to align Level 2 and Level 3 QC deliverables with client Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning milestones, energization readiness, integrated systems testing, and final turnover requirements. Provide corporate oversight to ensure mission-critical commissioning support activities are properly documented within CxAlloy, Procore, ACC, and other client-required platforms. Establish quality governance processes that support mission-critical startup activities, functional performance testing, integrated systems testing (IST), and client acceptance requirements. Collaborate with Operations leadership to ensure quality requirements are integrated into planning, procurement, prefabrication, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities. Collaborate with the Director of EHS to ensure quality initiatives support safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. Review significant quality events, client concerns, audit findings, root-cause analyses, and corrective action programs to ensure effective resolution and continuous improvement. Establish and maintain company-wide quality performance metrics, including rework rates, NCR trends, client audit findings, commissioning acceptance performance, turnover quality indicators, and system acceptance rates. Develop executive-level reporting tools, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide visibility into organizational quality performance. Support Business Development and Preconstruction teams by defining quality-related deliverables, staffing requirements, client commitments, and operational capabilities during project pursuits. Represent Hays Electrical Services during client audits, executive reviews, strategic meetings, witness testing events, and quality-related discussions. Benchmark company quality programs against industry best practices, mission-critical client standards, and hyperscale data center requirements to maintain a position of technical leadership within the market. Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving execution quality, strengthening documentation integrity, improving commissioning readiness, and enhancing client satisfaction. Maintain a visible leadership presence through periodic project visits to reinforce company standards, support quality personnel, evaluate program effectiveness, and engage with project leadership teams. Education & Qualifications Required Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical construction, quality control, commissioning support, or mission-critical project delivery. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing QC personnel, quality programs, or corporate quality initiatives. Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NEMA, ANSI/NETA, and electrical construction quality requirements. Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS). Experience supporting mission-critical, data center, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction projects. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, submittals, testing reports, commissioning documentation, and turnover packages. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with CxAlloy, Procore, ACC, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related technical field. ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE). ISO 9001 Lead Auditor. Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt. CQM-C (USACE). Previous experience supporting hyperscale data center construction, commissioning, and client turnover activities.

leadership to ensure quality requirements are integrated into planning, procurement, prefabrication, construction, commissioning, and turnover activities. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Collaborate with the Director of EHS to ensure quality initiatives support safe work practices, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Review significant quality events, client concerns, audit findings, root-cause analyses, and corrective action programs to ensure effective resolution and continuous improvement. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Establish and maintain company-wide quality performance metrics, including rework rates, NCR trends, client audit findings, commissioning acceptance performance, turnover quality indicators, and system acceptance rates. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Develop executive-level reporting tools, dashboards, and performance metrics to provide visibility into organizational quality performance. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Support Business Development and Preconstruction teams by defining quality-related deliverables, staffing requirements, client commitments, and operational capabilities during project pursuits. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Represent Hays Electrical Services during client audits, executive reviews, strategic meetings, witness testing events, and quality-related discussions. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Benchmark company quality programs against industry best practices, mission-critical client standards, and hyperscale data center requirements to maintain a position of technical leadership within the market. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, improving execution quality, strengthening documentation integrity, improving commissioning readiness, and enhancing client satisfaction. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Maintain a visible leadership presence through periodic project visits to reinforce company standards, support quality personnel, evaluate program effectiveness, and engage with project leadership teams. <br> </p></li></ul><p><strong>Education & Qualifications </strong></p><p><strong>Required </strong></p><ul><li><p>Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in electrical construction, quality control, commissioning support, or mission-critical project delivery. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing QC personnel, quality programs, or corporate quality initiatives. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, NEMA, ANSI/NETA, and electrical construction quality requirements. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, and managing Quality Management Systems (QMS). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Experience supporting mission-critical, data center, industrial, or large-scale commercial construction projects. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, submittals, testing reports, commissioning documentation, and turnover packages. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Strong leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Proficiency with CxAlloy, Procore, ACC, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite. </p></li></ul><p><strong>Preferred </strong></p><ul><li><p>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related technical field. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM/OE). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>ISO 9001 Lead Auditor. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt. </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>CQM-C (USACE). </p></li></ul><ul><li><p>Previous experience supporting hyperscale data center
