    "requisitionDescription": "<div><div><div><p><strong>PRIMARY FUNCTION:&nbsp;</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>Part-time faculty instruct students, participates in appropriate curricular and co-curricular assignments and functions, and performs the necessary administrative obligations.&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"font-size: 11pt;\"><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></span><strong>:</strong></p><ol><li dir=\"auto\">Plans and teaches courses in assigned course.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Prepares syllabi, instruction materials,coordinates lectures, tests, and evaluates.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Maintains highest possible standards of classroom instruction.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Keeps abreast of new information and developments in field of instruction.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Actively serves on college committees.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Actively participates in institutional meetings.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Maintains professional skills through regular professional development, and other activities appropriate to higher education faculty.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Assists with the development of curriculum.</li><li dir=\"auto\">Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.&nbsp;</li></ol><p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong>&nbsp;</p><p>This position has no supervisory responsibilities.</p><p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong></p><ol><li style=\"margin-left:36px;\" dir=\"auto\">Master&rsquo;s degree (or higher) in the discipline or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution is required. Minimum 18 hours graduate credit beyond the bachelor&rsquo;s degree may be considered for provisional teaching. [This is for those who have Masters in one discipline and want to teach in another, or for someone who is currently working on a Masters and wishes to teach.]</li><li style=\"margin-left:36px;\" dir=\"auto\">Must have demonstrated teaching competence in field of instruction.</li><li style=\"margin-left:36px;\" dir=\"auto\">Demonstrated ability to use technology in teaching is required.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:36px;\" dir=\"auto\">Familiarity with basic online academic technology,such as Canvas is preferred.</li><li style=\"margin-left:36px;\" dir=\"auto\">Experience in teaching in field of instruction is preferred.&nbsp;&nbsp;</li><li style=\"margin-left:36px;\" dir=\"auto\">Two years of college teaching with community college experience in field of instruction is preferred.&nbsp;</li></ol><p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT:&nbsp;</strong><em>The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
