A Sushi Hand-roll Chef will prepare fresh, made-to-order hand rolls in a fast-paced, interactive dining environment.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<li>Prepare and serve hand rolls made with premium ingredients, focusing on simplicity, freshness, flavor, while making sure the nori stays crispy.</li>\n<li>Engage with guests at the sushi bar, explaining the menu, taking orders, and providing a friendly and educational experience while preparing hand rolls in front of them.</li>\n<li>Ensure consistency in the preparation and presentation of each hand roll, adhering to established restaurant standards.</li>\n<li>Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hand roll bar and workspace at all times, including tools and utensils.</li>\n<li>Monitor the freshness and quality of fish and other ingredients, ensuring all products meet high standards of quality and safety.</li>\n<li>Work efficiently to serve customers in a timely manner, especially during peak hours, without sacrificing quality.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with the kitchen staff and other chefs to ensure smooth operations and quick delivery of orders.</li>\n<li>Adhere to all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation protocols in compliance with local health regulations.</li>\n<li>Assist in restocking and maintaining ingredient inventory to ensure seamless service throughout shifts.</li>\n<li>Contribute to menu development by suggesting new hand roll combinations and seasonal specials.</li>\n<li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Food Handlers card required.</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass mandatory screening which may include a background and credit check, and drug test.</li>\n <li>Must be 21 years plus of age. Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment team member permit, badge or license.</li>\n <li>Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers.</li>\n <li>Available to work any shift including weekends, holidays and overtime.</li>\n <li>Able to converse in English.</li>\n <li>Able to work independently.</li>\n <li>Able to work within a team environment.</li>\n <li>Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.</li>\n <li>Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test, criminal background and credit check.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Education:</strong> High school diploma or GED. Culinary arts education and training (preferred)</p>\n<p><strong>Experience:</strong> Two-three years previous experience in similar field of cuisine. Possess a thorough understanding of sushi techniques, including rice preparation, fish slicing, and working with seaweed (nori), is essential.
