Chance to learn underground utility location as it pertains to the design of new roads, buildings, and utility master plans. Learn the mitigation of risk associated with the damage to underground utilities during construction from faulty design due to incomplete existing condition information. This opportunity provides the chance to work on GIS grade maps for cities, counties, and private institutions. All tools and equipment are provided along with a company vehicle.The NV5 Utility Services Department likes to promote from within and will train the proper applicant.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p>NV5 is seeking a full-time SUE Tech II. This individual will use industry specific equipment to locate a variety of underground utilities safely and efficiently on utility services projects. Also, the technician will be visiting project sites to verify existing utilities. The most frequent and essential work activities include:  </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Location of underground utilities such as water, gas, power, fiber optic, and telephone.</li>\n <li>Identification of utility sizes, materials, and types.</li>\n <li>Work as part of a two to four man crew.</li>\n <li>Collection of existing conditions information for the assessment and identification of underground utilities.</li>\n <li>Assist with operation and maintenance of vacuum excavation truck.</li>\n <li>Be knowledgeable of the quality levels of SUE and how to differentiate between each one. </li>\n <li>Ability to help implement new technologies and methods.</li>\n <li>Provide support for land survey in the creation of topographic maps.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Associates degree preferred. </li>\n <li>Knowledge of Microsoft office software; Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.</li>\n <li>Ability to type.</li>\n <li>Familiar of IOS operating system, a plus.</li>\n <li>Familiar with AutoCAD and Microstation, a plus. </li>\n <li>1-3 years of utility designation experience </li>\n <li>Must possess or be able to obtain a valid driver’s license prior to employment</li>\n <li>Ability to travel (up to 50% of the time)</li>\n <li>Familiarity with iPad or tablet, a plus</li>\n <li>Minimum education requirement of High School Diploma or GED.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>NV5 offers a competitive compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life insurance, PTO, 401(k) and professional development/advancement opportunities.</strong></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>NV5 provides equal employment opportunities (EEO) to all applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, marital status, amnesty, or status as a covered veteran in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws.
