SPORTIME currently offers 192 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 131 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester and in the NY Capital Region. SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, pickleball, sports and camp facilities and programs, including the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) and SPORTIME Volleyball Club (VBC). SPORTIME clubs serve individuals of every age and athletic ability, 365 days a year.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span><br><br>LOCATIONS: SPORTIME Bethpage, Roslyn and Syosset clubs<br><br>JOB SUMMARY:<br>The maintenance assistant will perform all of the necessary janitorial and maintenance tasks inside the<br>club house, offices, and locker rooms. The maintenance assistant is also responsible for the daily cleaning<br>and maintaining of the tennis courts. This position also involves all outdoor maintenance of the grounds<br>and surrounding area to the facility. Additional duties may be assigned as they develop. This is a<br>hands-on, full-time working position. Tennis court maintenance is a priority.<br> <div>RESPONSIBILITIES:<br>● Tennis Court Maintenance</div>● Daily communication with Maintenance team<br>● All janitorial work in and around the facility (washing and/or mopping floors, stairs, sidewalks,<br>walls, dusting, vacuuming rugs, cleaning glass surfaces, wood panels, sweeping, applying wax to<br>the floor.<br>● Restack paper products, soap, shampoo, razors, deodorant and other supplies<br>● Ensure courts are maintained (cleaned, maintained) daily<br>● Ensure equipment is operational, clean and safe to operate<br>● Maintain a safe, clean and secure work environment<br>● Abide by SPORTIME policies and procedures.<br>● Change light bulbs and batteries in automatic dispensers<br>● Collect and dispose of trash bags from receptacles<br>● Collect and place for storage: tennis balls and all other equipment used on<br>● Tennis court maintenance<br>● Uphold safety standards by wearing protective gear when using cleaning supplies, identify and<br>correct tripping a and slipping hazards, bring faulty cleaning equipment issues to the attention of<br>the Maintenance Director and the GM and ensure that all MSDS are up to date and easily<br>accessible.<br> <div>KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:<br>● Valid NYS Driver’s License<br>● Reliable transportation to travel to several locations throughout the workday<br>● Knowledge of maintaining hard and clay tennis courts a PLUS<br>● Basic Knowledge of Electrical and Plumbing a PLUS<br>● Basic knowledge of carpentry, painting, construction and mechanical issues<br>● Knowledge of basic principles for providing customer service<br>● Ability to us electric tools, hand tools.<br>● Ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms and/or legs<br>● Ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or<br>continuously over time without “fatiguing”<br>● Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong.<br>● Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers /solutions<br>● Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs<br>● Ability to communicate information verbally and in writing so that others will understand<br>● Developing constructive and cooperative work relationships with others and maintaining them<br>over time.<br><br>WORK CONTEXT/ACTIVITIES:</div>● In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications set forth above, this position requires<br>strenuous physical activity, including but not limited to:<ul><li>Lifting (up to 50 lbs.), carrying, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, twisting and reaching using entire body and a</li><li>Use of both fine and gross motor skills</li><li>Use of abdominal and lower back muscles, continuously over time, without fatigue</li><li>Sit and to stand for long periods of time</li></ul>● The position requires the employee to work indoors and outdoors.
