Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, will support the patient care efforts of the pharmacy team.&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provide a best-in-class patient experience for those visiting Premier&rsquo;s pharmacies. Ensure patients are taken care of in a timely manner and maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Answer phones in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner. Answering questions within their scope and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.</li><li>Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, filling, and delivery of medications and other tasks associated with dispensing.</li><li>Ensures the patient receives correct medication by using appropriate dispensing procedures.</li><li>Maintains adequate stock of medication and supplies, uses safety precautions when stocking; ensures proper filling techniques are used when preparing medications.</li><li>Disseminates any information (drug shortages, availability, pricing, etc.) in a timely manner to the pharmacist and peers.</li><li>Re-establishes priorities based on workload and pharmacist&rsquo;s directions.</li><li>Ensures insurance adjudication and pre-authorizations are processed in a timely manner.</li></ul><ul><li>Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.</li><li>Keep other care team members informed when situations occur that disrupts timely patient flow through site.</li><li>Demonstrate an understanding of 340B regulations, inventory management and managing a point-of-sale (POS) system.</li><li>Adhere to patient care needs and the core values of Premier Community HealthCare to a provide best-in-class patient experience.</li><li>Work towards attaining department goals and drive Quality Improvement / Quality Assurance (QI/QA).</li><li>Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Supervisory responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong>None</p><p><strong>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</strong></p><ul><li>General understanding of drug names and classifications, medication ordering and prescription interpretation.</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Basic understanding of medical terminology, abbreviations, and documentation.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to use basic mathematical skills.</li></ul><ul><li>Maintains an awareness of developments in the community and pharmacy profession that relate to job responsibilities and integrate them into practices.</li><li>Maintains a professional relationship and positive attitude with co-workers, the public, patients, and the entire organization.</li><li>Maintains the highest professional work ethics.&nbsp;</li><li>Displays enthusiasm toward the work, mission, and vision of the organization.&nbsp;</li><li>Exceptional customer service skills and demonstrating empathy and compassion to a diverse patient population.&nbsp;</li><li>Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing with multiple levels within the organization.</li><li>Excellent grammar, spelling and interpersonal skills.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Must be a Florida Board of Pharmacy Registered Pharmacy Technician</li><li>High School diploma</li><li>A minimum of 1 to 2 years&rsquo; experience as a registered pharmacy technician</li><li>Strongly prefer a current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certificate or Exam for the Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT) certificate&nbsp;</li><li>Basic understanding of 340 B Federal Program (preferred)</li><li>Obtain and maintain Epic certification throughout employment.</li></ul><p><strong>&nbsp;</strong></p><p><strong>Working conditions and physical requirements:&nbsp;</strong></p><p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
