Description

Hello! At DGA, we know that healthcare architecture is more than design—it’s about shaping environments that support healing, enhance clinical efficiency, and meet the highest standards of safety and care. This work demands a deep commitment to technical excellence, regulatory rigor, and architectural innovation. If you have 12+ years of experience as a technical project architect, with a passion for healthcare and a drive to lead complex, meaningful projects, we’d love to connect and hear your story. Let’s build spaces that truly make a difference—together. As a Healthcare Project Architect at DGA, you will lead the technical execution of complex healthcare projects that prioritize patient outcomes, clinical efficiency, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will: Manage all aspects of project coordination—balancing client engagement, team leadership, and technical documentation to deliver healthcare environments that exceed expectations for function, performance, and safety. Serve as a key liaison between clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors, ensuring seamless communication throughout all phases of project delivery. Provide forward-thinking, code-compliant technical solutions that address the complexities of clinical workflows, medical equipment integration, and evolving healthcare standards. Lead the development and quality control of technical documentation, advocating for clarity and accuracy in all drawings, details, and specifications. Apply in-depth knowledge of healthcare building systems, codes, and delivery methods (including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, Design-Assist, IPD, IFOA, etc.) to inform strategy and execution. Champion technical excellence through proactive problem-solving, mentoring, and a collaborative project approach. Maintain and expand trusted client relationships, acting as a confident and professional representative of DGA's healthcare practice. You'll bring to DGA: 12+ years of experience as a technical project architect with a strong focus on healthcare environments, including hospitals, outpatient clinics, and specialty care facilities. A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture (required); licensed or registered architect preferred. Exceptional knowledge of building systems, detailing, materials, construction sequencing, and agency review processes, especially in California. Proven experience developing project manuals, technical specifications, and contract documents for complex, regulated projects. Strong ability to conduct on-site observations, process RFIs, manage submittals, and interface with permitting agencies and HCAI/OSHPD officials during design and construction. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (required); familiarity with Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Adobe Creative Suite, and MS Office tools. Outstanding organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple fast-paced deadlines. Additional certifications such as LEED, WELL, EDAC, ACHA, LCI, DBIA are a plus and reflect a commitment to excellence in healthcare architecture At DGA, people come first. We are a purpose-driven, people-focused firm where collaboration, creativity, and respect define our culture.
