Job Title: Engineer III Position Number: ENG III 001 Location: Washington D.C. Worksite: Was hington Naval Yard Status: Full-Time Contingent Upon Award Clearance: Secret Date Added: December 1, 2025 Job Summary: Functions as senior technical authority or lead engineer for one or more PMS 408 programs, providing technical direction, innovation, risk reduction, and mentorship across the acquisition lifecycle. Duties and Responsibilities: Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in design, development, integration, and test of complex systems (radio-frequency electronics, unmanned platforms, explosive ordnance disposal tools, biomedical devices) Serve as Technical Director or Chief Engineer on Acquisition Category (ACAT) or Abbreviated Acquisition Programs Direct modeling, simulation, Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), and rapid prototyping efforts Author technical content for capability documents, acquisition strategies, and test plans Conduct independent technical assessments and gate reviews for milestone decisions Mentor junior engineers and enforce rigorous systems engineering processes Provide technical expertise for FMS cases and international cooperative programs Required Qualifications Education: Master's level degree in an Engineering discipline.
