This is a remote/ rotational position, working two weeks on and two weeks off or three weeks on and three weeks off, in Prudhoe Bay, AK. The typical schedule is 84 hours per week (40 hours straight time and a minimum of 44 hours at time and a half). All meals and lodging are provided by Worley while the employee is on location. Transportation between Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay is provided. Worley offers a competitive benefits package, with company paid short-term disability, life insurance, paid sick leave, and 4.5% employer match on 401k. Job Purpose: Install new electrical systems, equipment, wiring and controls in an existing brown field petrochemical environment. Essential Job Functions: Assists Electrical Journeyman in setup and performance of job tasks. Assist Journeyman with maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, installation and construction of industrial electrical equipment and systems found in an industrial environment through the proper use of standard wire, conduit, cable tray, fittings and hardware commonly found in industrial plants. Assist Journeyman while learning to bend, cut, thread, and install conduit. Assist in pulling MC-HL cable and installation. Help Journeyman install and terminate wiring. Learn applicable NEC codes that pertain to all installations performed. Responsible for use and care for the tools and equipment commonly employed in industrial construction such as hydraulic/electric benders, knockout punch sets, cable puller, meggers, hi-pot equipment, volt meters, multi-testers and amp-meters and other electrical parts. Assist other crafts with general labor work. Participate in daily and weekly Toolbox meeting. Must be able to follow all company, client, safety, and regulatory requirements, including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines as they relate to this position and the work duties being performed. Have adequate written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization. Complete all ABC apprentice testing requirements. Routinely operate Worley/client light and/or medium duty vehicles. Safely climb ladders of various heights. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Possesses current knowledge of Apprentice Electrician, have physical fitness card and an understanding of organizational practices. Basic understanding of electrical circuits including the operation and function of typical electrical devices and machinery such as solenoids, relays, motors, transformers, switches, motor control centers, generators, batteries, and lighting systems. Possess an excellent knowledge of the National Electric Code. Adequate written and oral communications applicable to standards set by organization. Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Proficient in NFPA70E. Physical Demands/Work Environment: Work is performed in a remote Arctic environment with limited medical resources. Candidate understands the site is approximately 840 miles (at least 4 hours by air ambulance) from surgical, specialist, and tertiary medical care, and where medical evacuation from this location may be significantly delayed due to weather conditions. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is required to: Must have ability to stand, walk on level, uneven and slippery surfaces, sit, squat, kneel, crawl, reach through low and high ranges, work overhead, and exhibit normal balance and coordination. These basic physical requirements are essential for safe performance of the job in harsh environments with exposure to very cold temperatures and while wearing arctic gear. Standing for prolonged periods of time. Driving for prolonged periods of time in the dark and inclement weather Ability to climb scaffold, ramps, stairs, equipment, portable ladders, and/or wellhouse/tank/facility fixed ladders of 20 feet or greater. Ability to wear and utilize fall protection within manufacturer specifications. Lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist with two hands. Lift 50 lbs. from floor to shoulder with two hands. Carry 50 lbs. for 15 feet with two hands. Push/pull 60 lbs. sled for 20 feet. Push/pull 90 lbs. cart for 20 feet.
